What’s remarkable about Madi’s stats being so high now is that they were pretty bad by her standards earlier in the season. So those stats are including the preseason where she was less efficient than Jenna.

So those stats are including the preseason where she was less efficient than Jenna. After the Spring matches my wife said our team didn't look very dominant this year. I replied that Madi looked like she wanted us to be asking "Logan who?" by the end of the season. (Obviously that will never happen.) Then with the loss to LBSU and Madi going 52 - 31 / 157 (.134; 3.71 kps) the first four matches, my take was looking pretty foolish. Now here we are approaching the last two rounds and Madi's kill stats are a notable upgrade over Logan's in 2022.

Not that Eggleston was ever all that great defensively, but Skinner is so much better than she was last year and at the beginning of this season. She was clutch in serve receive late in the match against Stanford. She still has room to grow there, but she’s a strength on defense at this point. You definitely don’t want to try to pick on her any more in transition. She’s really solid back there. I can’t beileve we get her for another year.

And she’s so composed and happy - she looks like a great leader on the court.

lmfao Jenaisya Moore and Asjia were drafted onto the same pvf team PVF uses THEE photo and I absolutely die Honestly it’s a great photo. That’s what all the detractors of it miss. And it’s a great photo only because of Moore’s presence. That’s what makes it compelling. The old ABC Wild World of Sports has this great narration at the beginning of their show and the memorable tag line, “The thrill of victory...and the agony of defeat.” It’s the juxtaposition that makes it compelling. It’s not about trying to roast Moore. She just happens to be the one in the photo.

I just looked it up, and turns out Batenhorst actually has a lower hitting percentage on the year than Jenna does. (.200 v. 214). TTA’s is only a little higher at .231.

There are some similarities between Wenaas and TTA. TTA came in with high expectations. It just hasn’t quite panned out the way people thought it would, including me. She’s paired with a NPOY candidate in Sarah Franklin, same as Wenaas. The Wisconsin threads, both match and season, are filled with posts elucidating disappointment. I don’t think it’s achieved the same crescendo as Texas fans on Wenaas, but there’s a lot more of us on here, and more of us have diarrhea of the mouth...errr...keyboard. I feel like she’s played better in the postseason, but I honestly watched Wisconsin closer during the season than I have the tournament, so I can’t say for sure. But you’re right in that it’s not like those other teams are rolling out Terminators at the 2nd pin position and we’ve got some kind of Star Trek redshirt out there. I’ve been saying since the middle of the season we can beat any one out there. I can’t say I expected it, but I’ve always believed it was possible, and honestly the formula for me was always what we did to beat Tennessee and Stanford. But the girls and staff get all the credit. Including Wenaas. It’s been so fun to follow.

You are correct in that there have been tons of Badger fans not thrilled with her performance during the year, constantly reminded by more patient Badger fans that it takes time to adjust to a new team and setter, and to trust to process. In the 4 tournament games against Jackson State, Miami, Penn State, and Oregon, Temi is averaging 0.299 with a total of 42 kills and 13 errors in 97 attempts. Trust me, Badger fans are thrilled to see this kind of improvement, at this time of the year!

That’s an impressive turnaround. As you say, in the nick of time.

I've watched the matched now at 4 times. The significant improvement was able to sideout on certain rotations (Ro 5 and 6). These rotations is usually when teams try to go on a run against us but we found ways in these critical moments.
