SEC 11-2 (not the toughest competion, but a win is a win) Ole Miss lost 1-3 to St John's SC lost to Towson 0-3 Kentucky lost to CSU That CSU loss is really the weird one of the day. First time head coach, solid team but you’d think Skinner/BenJo and a more talented roster would be alright in a situation like that. Ole Miss out hit St John’s by a pretty large margin in sets 3 and 4 that they lost. Odd box score. Towson is good. SC isn’t making up ground. Whitesides and Mccutcheon hit really poorly, both after a lot of time in that gym. Florida proved me wrong. Well done. That’ll help sec rpi. Arky crushed Mich St. Ark hit +.300, msu hits < .100. And everybody else played some ridiculous cupcake school.

I would not classify UCLA as a cupcake school. Probably. ;-)

Bunch of Saturday action! Couple same opponents. Towson - S.Car. Hope to see some signs of life there.
LSU UCLA rematch.
UGA has a tough day. Early morning match and then gotta turn it around and come back to beat FSU.
Ole Miss probably plays a better team today in FGCU, although they lost to ASU yesterday.
And then Pepp - A&M. Get to see that team tested a little bit.

Oof SoCar pulls one over on Towson. 🥱
How can we have a broadcast in this day of technology which includes no score on the screen unless the lame monotoned commentator mentions it?

LSU will make some noise this year. Quality team all around. Athleticism, talent and finesse.
Robinson + Dotson + Demps + Anwusi = wow

Congrats to Mizzou for pulling out two tough 5 set wins over UCA and Colgate at their home tourney this weekend. Not sure how they'll fare against SEC competition, but those wins are building blocks.
Hogs beat Tulsa 3-0 behind a really impressive performance from Gillen. Really curious to see if Arkansas sticks with a 5-1 against the trees of Wisconsin.
And Mississippi State completes the reverse sweep over the Ragin Cajuns to go undefeated this weekend.

So what do we know after the first weekend? Some quick thoughts (in no particular order):
1. Kentucky got exposed a bit in terms of ball control and defense. Their status as the front-runner isn't totally evaporated, but there are questions. 2. Florida looks to ride its freshmen, which on one hand is great, because they look to be terrific, but on the other hand: they are freshmen. 3. Tennessee and Arkansas did what they were expected to do and looked pretty ready, though both have bigger tests coming up. 4. UGA had some illness related personnel shortages and got whupped by a fairly solid looking FSU team. 5. Ole Miss looks like they are struggling with ball control and consistency. 6. Auburn did well enough, but it doesn't seem like they picked up where they left off at the end of last season, even though pretty much everyone is back. 7. Mizzou and Mississippi state went undefeated at home, though both of them stumbled a bit. 8. LSU looks to have its own entrant in the SEC FOY conversation with Jurnee Robinson, and they split a nice pair of competitive matches with a decent UCLA team. 9. I'm not really sure what we learned about Bama, though they did go undefeated against their undistinguished opponents. 10. TAMU had some good moments, and they seemed to get some production from folks other than Meuth and Lednicky, which is a good sign. 11. South Carolina split a pair of matches against a solid Towson team, but their pin production was underwhelming in both matches, for the most part.
I'm most curious about Kentucky, Florida, a healthy UGA, and LSU.

She was fun to watch, yet I cringed at how much they used her (up).
