Florida sweeps, 30-27, 30-16, 30-16. Pretty much an ugly match. Game 1, EWU couldn't get a serve in, while Florida's players were afraid to hit the ball. It was ugly. Florida did manage to pull game 1 out, but it was basically EWU errors that led to it. EWU has some nice players, Mellor and Beck and Albers, but they just simply cannot serve or pass very well, at least today. Not that Florida was much better, as far as passing. Florida did serve very well today and other than Kisya Killingsworth, who continues to impress, the serving was the only bright spot today. Florida just looked so tentative, like they were sleep walking, at least in game 1. EWU just ran out of gas or mentally they were deflated after the close loss in game 1. Mellor was pretty much unstoppable in game 1, then they stopped going to her the rest of the match for some reason. It was odd. Oh well, the match is out of the way, but Florida will have to play better this weekend if they want to avoid any losses.

Did McCray play?
(This has probably been discussed elsewhere, but all I've seen so far was that she didn't play in an earlier match.)

Did McCray play? (This has probably been discussed elsewhere, but all I've seen so far was that she didn't play in an earlier match.) Yeah, she played. The only match she missed was Friday vs. Missouri State. Mary didn't want to wear her out with 3 matches in 2 days, plus this match on Monday. She got pulled in game 1 after she was blocked 2 times and hit the antenna on another attack. In her defense, 2 of the sets were just not very good, EWU camped out waiting for her. Games 2 and 3 she was solid, I believe she was error free. She was very good against UCSB on Saturday as well. It's nice to have her back. This team is light years ahead of where they were last year, with a true right side. Douglas has also played well when she's called upon. Some pics from the match
