Who would be the most underrated prep player to become an Olympian?
Like someone coming out of HS or even beginning of their college years that no one saw become this level of a player??
Has to be Lowe right? Anyone else just magically become one hell of a player?

Justine Wong-Orantes was fairly well known on the beach, but I don't think she was a ranked indoor recruit coming into college, was she? I think she was a walk-on at Nebraska.

Justine Wong-Orantes was fairly well known on the beach, but I don't think she was a ranked indoor recruit coming into college, was she? I think she was a walk-on at Nebraska. who became a first team AA in college. So |

So The question was underrated "coming out of HS or even beginning of their college years" so I don't see how that's relevant? |

JWO was very much a known quantity as an indoor prep at Los Alamitos/Mizuno, and was not a walk on. She had other full-ride offers, including Hawaii. |

Mickisha Hurley (2000) was a 2x AA but played at Barry University. Nicole Davis, wasn't unknown, just awful. Kim Hill was unexpected.

As an aside, I’m not John’s biggest fan, but the man knows talent. There were definitely ither programs looking at her as an undersized setter, but he saw the potential as a ‘bro(as did Shoji). |

But his comment that everybody was recruiting her as a backup setter or a walk-on doesn't suggest anybody thought she'd be an All American, and later Olympic, libero. |

She was very close to leading Pepperdine to the Final Four. What was Bartsch-Hackley ranked? I would have thought maybe Colleen Ward would have been the future NT star. Bartsch really turned it on post college. |
