It was a very good nite for Amy Hiatt, CAL POLY's outside pin hitter. Probably her best match all season with 9 kills on 15 TA hitting .316 also having 2 SA.

Sounds like Cal Poly and Hawaii have a similar problem, both need legitimate front row coaches

Probably her best match all season with 9 kills on 15 TA hitting .316 also having 2 SA. actually it was a bit of a horrific night, the last 3 sets she got on target for sure and played well. the first set however, she sailed 3 almost point blank uncontested attacks wide there was no block on her for the attacks, was a huge reason Poly did not lead and it was only tied before Ohwebete went on a serving run to close out the set. Poly should have been up with the lead down the stretch.

Just 800 fans in attendance when CAL POLY squared off against UCSB at home. Coach Walters should take note it was not a packed house!!! or not schedule matches on Halloween night, lol I'm sure Walters noted that down on her tablet. "Do Not Schedule matches on Halloween Night"

"Do Not Schedule matches on Halloween Night" Yes playing on a Tuesday at 5 PM ---Halloween nite to boot wasn't the best scheduling. Still you are playing your closest rival. Nevertheless, coach Walters needs to improve her community fan skills. More wins wouldn't hurt either

No one CAL POLY player is going to turn this program around for sure.
But,...getting one or two players to start playing to their true potential could make a huge difference.
Hiatt, Thalken & Slack all have the talent to turn this POLY team into winners if they can elevate their play just a little.
Facing UH Wahine Friday nite is a good time to start.

Congrats on the win over UH. After losing sets 1 and 3 by such a large margin, did not expect the W. Stockham really put the team on her back along with other players stepping up.

Will CAL POLY finish conference 14-4?
That means they will need to run the table beating UCSD, the Beach, UCR & UCD.
All matches will be at home.

Great get by Walters. I guess her job is secured for another 4 years. Imagine a Reid vs Beshear in 2025?

Glad to see Poly signing a very nice pin hitter in the 2024 class. The current team is developing into a pretty nice unit so this addition should increase the level of play next year. Hopefully all the conference teams will be signing good quality players to keep everything moving forward.
I watch a little video of Beshear and she can pound the ball and some hops. Poly needs 6 rotation hitters and she looks like a good one.
