How tall are these commits? Good job Jake for starting a new thread.

Cal Poly was one of the better teams in conference because they had two good terminators at the pins and solid middle play. Their big hole was back row defense and serve receive. With the loss of a high caliber pin and a solid middle to graduation there is a lot of work to do. The two freshman signees, posted above, are players that may help down the road but immediate help is needed.

I'm not sure how CP is going to recover. Another poster in another thread mentioned that they had legacy players to carry this program. I predicted a couple years ago that CP would fall back into mediocrity, and it looks like the trajectory of the program is heading in that direction.

I’m curious who recruited Dvoracek? Was it Crosson or Walters?

I’m curious who recruited Dvoracek? Was it Crosson or Walters? She was recruited by Jason Borchin, who worked under both Sam and Caroline. They were all on staff when Maia was recruited. Man, I bet every other Big West coach was kicking themselves. Maia is a special player.

Maybe they are "preferred walk-on's" and in 2-3 years something will happen.

The big question is, "will they be better, worse or the same" with no additional help?

Jake, if the program has any open scholarships I am sure the coaches are trying to improve their team. The portal is the quickest way to upgrade a team and most programs look there for immediate help.
When it's all said and done, I expect Poly to be about the same as they move in new players to take over significant roles. IMO, last year the team greatly under performed out of conference so it would be great if the team won a few more matches this upcoming season.

For some unusual reason CAL POLY has open the last two seasons with several injuries to key players. This I believe has been the cause of a number of losses in the NC schedule. In the 2022 season at least four players that should have been playing did not or saw very limited action. This needs to be seriously addressed in 2023!!!

Who on the current 2023 CAL POLY roster will fill Maia Dvoracek shoes??? Who will coach Walters find to supply 50% of the lost offense?

It’s interesting to me that of the 15 athletes listed on the 2023 roster, 11 of them redshirted. What does everyone take from that?

Leaving eight players with playing experience to fill six spots. Again this is a huge "lack of experienced" players problem for CAL POLY for 2023. I understand coach Walters is giving her younger players more time to mature. But,...when 1-2 players go on the injured list your forced to bring in someone with little or no experience.
