Hello Volleytalkers and Guests,
Welcome to the 7th Annual All-VolleyTalk Awards. This is the official voting ballot thread where YOU can decide which VolleyTalk posters should be recognized for their stellar contributions to this forum.
There’s no committee to decide All-Volleytalk awards. Your votes determine who wins.
(the list is mostly alphabetized... there's a few errors because of usernames being different from screen names, please go through the whole list)
General Information
1. The poll lists 50 VolleyTalk posters comprised of: (a) service providers, (b) posters nominated by a committee, and (c) other deserving nominees. There were more nominees than the poll max limit of 50 so some otherwise deserving posters had to be eliminated (via the nomination poll)
2. Voting will end on January 14, 2022, 10:00 AM (CT). (or whenever the poll says lol)
Instructions:
1. The poll (above) lists 50 nominees for All-VolleyTalk recognition.
2. Vote up to twelve (12) times — one (1) vote per poll nominee. No weighted votes.
3. Vote for the posters you personally believe have consistently contributed the best content to this forum in the women's volleyball sub-forum in 2022.
4. Lobbying is allowed, if only to remind other voters what your favorite nominees have accomplished in 2022.
5. Sit back and enjoy!
Voting criteria:
Vote for the posters you personally believe have consistently contributed the best content to this forum. What does this mean? Please focus on the key words: “consistently” and “best content.” You can use any combination of factors:
Who are the best posters on a consistent basis throughout 2022?
Which posters post valuable (i.e., insightful, informative, interesting) content?
Which posters put in a lot of man-hours to help everyone else enjoy this forum? PTW, VT Top 25, etc.
Which posters make this a better place?
Whose posts do you look forward to reading every day?
Which posters make you laugh? Cry?
Which posters make you want to “up” your game?
Which posters make you think and talk about volleyball in a different way?
Which posters provide a valuable service to this community?
Please vote for posters you genuinely believe deserve recognition. Don't vote for posters just because others think they're deserving. You read posts. Trust your own judgment. Make up your own mind.
Note: posters don’t necessarily have to be thread creators. Posters who merely reply all the time can be just as valuable through their honest, insightful, and flat-out amazing posts.
How are the winners determined?
1. The top vote-getter wins the VolleyTalk Poster of the Year
2. The top 8 vote-getters are on the All-VolleyTalk 1st Team
3. The next 8 vote-getters are on the All-VolleyTalk 2nd Team
4. The next 8 vote-getters are on the All-VolleyTalk Honorable Mention Team
Why 8 on the 1st team, 8 on the 2nd team, and 8 on the Honorable Mention team?
Well, it's all arbitrary. Almost. Volleyball = 6 players per side, plus libero and defensive specialist. We could've easily done 10 on 1st team, 10 on 2nd team, and all remaining on Honorable Mention. In 2016 there were 6 on 1st team, 6 on 2nd team, and 12 on Honorable Mention. Folks thought that number was too small so it was increased in 2018.
Only 24 of 50 will get official All-VolleyTalk recognition. 26 will get nothing. Those are the breaks.
I think most everyone contributed something to this forum, but as we all know from these “All-American” type lists, there is a finite number of slots. Not everyone can win. Some of you may only receive a couple votes... That’s okay. That doesn’t mean you’re not a contributor. You’re simply up against stiff competition. This is just for fun.
