NSU fell later in the afternoon’s round-robin play to host Hampton, 3-0 (30-18, 30-18, 30-28). Moore had six kills to lead the NSU offense, and both Weatherspoon and Shea Kersey (Richmond, Va.) tallied double figures in digs, with 13 and 11, respectively.
The Spartans got back on the winning track in their final round-robin match, against Winston-Salem State on Saturday morning. NSU won 3-0 (30-19, 30-17, 30-28) against the Rams. Kersey had seven kills and Moore had three solo blocks to pace the Spartans.
