PVF and China wont target the same players... Players go to China for $$$. According to This website the higher-payed pro volleyball players are getting paid 170000 Yaun. That's only $23000 American bucks a year. That's not $60000. The highest paid players might be making 500000 Yaun from what I was quickly able to look up. That's $72000, but how many US players are making that (honest question, because I don't know.)

I can't imagine Barstch, Larson, or Kim were cheap either

There is a big difference between what local players and foreigners are paid, in China and in the other overseas leagues. That article may be right for locals, but foreign players are paid $300k+. There is always some low key resentment in Italy between proven domestic players and new Americans who show up making more than them…

honestly I forget how bad you actually had it there. Not to be shady lmao but maybe I should just be content with a medal at all 😭 I actually think Serbia did as well as they could've given the field. The highest-value/lowest-cost change in result would've been to beat Brazil in pool play, which would've landed them USA in the finals instead of semifinals. But honestly USA looked unstoppable with their insane passing lineup, Larson's OOS hitting, Annie playing well enough, and Foluke's abnormally good blocking.

We were actually awful lmfao. What a painful to watch struggle. It was embarrassing how we literally exclusively set Tijana. Busa and Bojana were terrible and Maja wasn’t great either. Mina Popovic and Tijana were the only two who showed up the entire tournament and we deserve what we got. Obviously we still rely on Tijana a lot but it’s way better now and everyone on court contributes

OH was definitely not as strong as they became at WC, Maja relied too heavily on Bosko, and Bosko honestly wasn't playing at her 2018 or 2022 self (though still miles ahead of the rest of the OPP playing field). Truthfully I think part of Serbia's 2022 success is that Drca doesn't deep-dish as much as Maja which reduces her range a bit (e.g. cannot always deliver to Tijana). Busa and Lozo are much more confident and reliable hitters as a result, and Bosko gets a load taken off her.

Tokyo Tijana outside of the semi final was one of her best ever tournaments her stats for the tournament are INSANE. lol. Everyone else sans Mina was terrible tho. Agree about Drca though. She spreads it a lot more but also feeds Tijana when it’s needed. I like her choices a lot
