Eva Hudson is a top 10 player in the country. Convince me I’m wrong.
OK, top 20 maybe, but still. Girl is playing at a new level this season. And I like it.

It's possible I missed it in the game thread, but has there been any discussion about Chicoine switching to a jump float (from her usual jump topspin) serve during the 4th and 5th sets? It's possible she did it earlier but that's when I noticed. Perhaps a coaching decision, it seemed like Wisconsin was passing her topspin serve pretty well mid-match, even if she went on some runs.

Coach Shondell has discussed it during some of his weekly press conferences. He's noted while the topspin is good, sometimes they have her switch to the jump float because it's more accurate. She can target the passer they're trying to get in trouble. She's done the switch before in previous games, like against Penn State because the coaching staff recognized the PSU passers are actually much better at passing top spins than float serves. I love that both her serves can cause problems for other teams.

Very impressive that she can switch on a dime like that and cause problems with either serve! I'm sure it makes it more difficult to scout her for sure.

I saw her look to the bench and signal with her hand to ask float or topspin.

“Knowing that I am unlikely to be one of those 12, my goal remains the same — to compete hard, help prepare our USA team in any way possible, and to stay ready, as history indicates anything can happen,” Evans said. “I may not be the most gifted athlete, and I may not have a 30-inch vertical,” Evans added. “But I love what I do, and I just won’t be outworked. “If you truly want to go after something, pour your heart and soul into it. At the end of the day, you have no regrets.” Purdue has been blessed with terrific setters. Her and her family still come back to watch volleyball game at Holloway. It’s amazing that she also earned a degree in engineering.
