Terrible news for her, and sucks for the team next year.

So sad for Meg. She's worked so hard to make it back on the court, injury after injury. A second ACL tear in just a few years is heartbreaking. Wishing her nothing but greatness!

I can’t imagine the toll this is taking on her mental health. I can only imagine the excitement she had after finishing on a strong note last season and a successful spring season. Wishing her all of the best and I know she’ll bring some guidance to the team this fall.
Not sure how the setting situation will end up now. Yim just doesn’t seem ready based on the spring games and Andersen will be a true freshman. Does Shondell pursue a setter in the transfer portal? Time will tell.

Terrible way to go out for any kid. Definitely sensing a different vibe here regarding Renner. Remember that each and every kid, yes kid (17-22), is out there working their tail off to perform at the highest level possible, especially in the Big10. The conference that has the absolute best players of that age group IN THE WORLD. Every club kid hopes/ works to catch the eye of a Big10 coach, get a phone call from them, get an offer, sign, practice and earn a spot in the rotation every year, every week. I guarantee that every missed serve, shanked pass, double contact, bad set, missed kill and blocked attack bothers that kid and they pick themselves up, learn from it and vow to do better next point, next set, next match and all their next practices.
As you might be able to tell, this touched a nerve for me.

Thinking the big ten has the best players of their age in the world is literally hilarious to me.
As if Zehra, Akimova, Antropova, LYY, Ana Cristina, Arina, Vargas, Stysiak exist. I could have named like 60 more names but you get the point

By the time these players were 16 they were training in top programs against international level players - and I may have that age wrong. Conversely, there's not the educational opportunities there that come with college athletics which is why many come over here to both play their sport and get a degree.

Olympics lmao. Some of the ages are insane

To help get this thread back on track, I sincerely wish the best for Meg Renner (an Iowa HS girl!) and hope Purdue can find an experienced setter to transfer.
