I didn't go to the AU match last night because of the Crew game, but just watched the replay. I was most impressed by Londot, Tuman, and Thorpe. Sydney Taylor wasn't dressed, so she must have some sort of injury. I think this team is going to really need one of the young outside hitters to be a consistent passer or it will be a lot of junk balls out to Emily, which is probably why she is being used on the left right now. That will still give OSU a chance, but could make for some games with a lot of scoring runs and crazy lead changes.

Not to mention that she can still hit so hard and nailed many OOS hittings.

Why did only 100 people show up for this match? So disappointing.

Why did only 100 people show up for this match? So disappointing. You had to buy a ticket to the men's match.

Admission was free.
There was a better crowd than I expected but it started dwindling pretty rapidly after the second set. The spring scrimmages compete with club volleyball, which is pretty big in Central Ohio.

Why did only 100 people show up for this match? So disappointing. It was pretty late at night for anyone not in the immediate Columbus area. I was going to take my team but the parents veto'd when we wouldnt get back till midnight.

Do people expect Londot to move to OH permanently? Or is it just a result of being shorthanded for the Spring roster?

I think if the passing continues to struggle then she will stay out there so it is easier to just set her every 1 point pass. Even if she is OH, I think she would hit on the right while out of the back and in front right on serve receive. If the freshmen outsides that aren't able to play yet can pass at a good enough level, then she will probably be back as the OPP.

Went to the scrimmage this last Saturday and finally remembered to write up my thoughts for anyone who couldn't attend.
This match wasn't that close. Louisville was better in all areas and cruised to a 15,16,16 sweep. OSU couldn't pass and the setters were on the run for the whole match. Mia Tuman played the first 2 sets and looks to be the favorite to start over Sarah White. I think part of the reason Tuman might start is that she has quicker acceleration and gets under more shanked passes to actually take with her hands. Londot continues to play outside this spring with Thorpe at OPP and guest player (Gabby Gonzales this time) as the other outside. Morbitzer is the only healthy DS available on Saturday that I expect to play and she was not good on Saturday. She was in good position to dig balls, but was not executing and keeping them in play on OSU's side of the net. McCann played as the other DS, but I don't expect her to get any playing time in a competitive game.
My little bit of thoughts on Louisville was that Charitie Luper was the best player on Saturday. Her serve opened up big leads in all 3 sets and she seemed to come up with a big kill every time OSU tried to make a run. I also didn't notice OSU taking advantage of her smaller size while in the front row.

I'm assuming she played in club and high school.
Does she get a new 4 years of eligibility?
