How tacky. Please don't let us turn into football and basketball. I am begging everyone. lol it will be the new trend and no one can stop it. Gen Z does whatever they want lol. I’m not the biggest fan of it either, however I was told by a few head volleyball coaches and NIL agents on the football side that these offer “announcements” increase NIL opportunities and will help leverage decisions. I think if you’re a powerhouse NIL school like Texas or Nebraska these “committed” posts bode well for those types of programs.

Lol wait like she got held back? Or they were both originally 2025s? Both were 2024s. Maybe she's on the younger side for that class? Probably adjusted her class schedule to stretch high school out another year. I know of another player in this class that did this, but extended her junior high years to start high school as a 25 instead of a 24. Hmmm…cuz it definitely sounds like being held back a year but I’d have to know the grades to not be suspicious lol but hey maybe it was important for her to walk life without her twin sister, especially if her sister is already committed.

So NIL opportunities are coming from notoriety and not necessarily likability? Not saying she’s not a likable kid, even with the IMG transfer announcement nonsense, but I wonder how kids are being coached to build their brand. Being better people and contributors to their community or just being avid Instagram posters. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just a matter of time that club directors start making an effort to direct their players and parents towards being more intentional about cultivating an online presence that promotes the quality of their character rather than how many clicks they can generate. In a world of Lexis, be a Logan …OOP 🫢

Like if you’re a sought after recruit, it’s a given everyone is going to offer you if they have the money/schollies to do so. So in essence all you’re really doing is gassing yourself up for Instagram

People need to quit being so judgmental and let people live. She’s not hurting anybody. Good for her for working hard and getting offers.

How tacky. Please don't let us turn into football and basketball. I am begging everyone. Or, instead of criticizing and trying to shame someone for enjoying their good fortune . . .

Actually, a lot of players post their offers to see how each fan base engages. Clearly that isn't going to be the basis of their decision, but I have had friends talk about how certain schools had fanbases that BLEW up their social, and it definitely helped narrow down which schools they were most interested in. Regardless of the reason though, let them live. It's growing the hype around volleyball which is nothing but positive

I should be shocked at "adults" taking unnecessary jabs at 15-16 year-olds on anonymous message boards, but sadly I'm really not . . .

Honestly I think it's a little tacky also, but I guess I'm just old school in that manner. I know basketball and football does it too, and I think it's tacky there also. But to be fair, my opinion doesn't matter. And in the age of NIL, and with Hazel attending IMG Academy, it kind of makes sense. I think we're going to find more and more athletes doing so as things go on.
