I love how prevalent the clairvoyant community is on Volleytalk. So many gifted individuals with the ability to read minds and see the future! If some of you wouldn’t mind throwing some lucky lottery numbers my way, the DMs are open!! ☺️ If I DM you winning lottery numbers will you share 50% with me. Just asking. Need cash. Absolutely. It’s hard out there and I’m all about sharing wealth

It is translated as racism and should be edited. Imagine being able to be in a position in life where you feel comfortable purposefully misinterpreting the word racism. This is a disgusting trend that needs to stop. Be done.

This is a disgusting trend that needs to stop. Be done. The poster may have reacted to the abbreviation "POC" for Person of Color. POC can have other meanings, which I suspect led to other interpretations. Lincoln NE is supposedly 80% white and that % is steadily declining. In my anecdotal experience, Black, Asian (many originally immigrated as Vietnam refugees) and Hispanic (mostly immigrants from Mexico) being the most prevalent minority groups. The Hispanic population is the fastest growing, which is true throughout so called fly over country. Lincoln charities have and continue to step up to sponsor refugees from throughout the world. Lincoln is welcoming in that regard. As far as the volleyball fans go they are likely more than 80% white. Why? Because of the interest of the minority groups themselves. Most minority groups in Lincoln are not big VB fans. They have other priorities. Go to a youth soccer game, and you will get a whole different perspective on Lincoln's demographic make up. Hispanics love the sport both as players and spectators. I don't count, nor care, but my grandson's U12 team is at least 30% Hispanic. Great players and fans. I coached youth soccer in Lincoln. Often see the Vietnamese playing pick up games, but in talking to many Vietnamese parents they see this as purely recreational activity with no need or want to join organized competitive teams. Their focus being more on the education and careers of their children. Again my anecdotal experience. But as far as Lincoln being a racist whitey haven, that is not my experience since moving here 35 years ago from Iowa City a very liberal city.

I think the more that Americans understand the perspective of others outside of their state it gives them better insight and helps lead us towards a more cohesive country and in todays times, that is needed now more than ever. I think what I originally posted may have been misinterpreted by some here thinking that it was a desire to NOT be around an area of majority white population. It’s not so much that as much as it is valuing a diverse environment. Simple as that. Sure I would like to see more people that looked like me but I definitely don’t want to be surrounded 24/7 with ONLY people who look like me but I can understand for others, even white people, why that may seem more comfortable for them. A lot of it for me can just be as simple as wanting to be sure I know someone who can take care of my hair the right way lol but also knowing that my presence driving around a neighborhood is not going to attract unnecessary police attention for no reason. Life experiences can be difficult to convey and understand when they simply aren’t shared with everyone.

Just my take based on the early ‘25 commits in the B1G is that this 2025 class is not very strong - especially in the middle-blocker position. It will be interesting to see how things continue to play out.

We are encouraged to discuss race in our society, but differing perspectives and emotion often just take over and we end up shouting at each other. So we don't.

Thank you for your input on 16 year old girls lol Isn’t this entire 25 page thread dealing with the ‘25 class? Yes, who are all talented for their age groups. Why say the class isn’t strong in the middle position, or do you mean it’s not deep in the middle position? Because talent develops…

Why say the class isn’t strong in the middle position, or do you mean it’s not deep in the middle position? Because talent develops… I believe they’re referencing the strength at the top of the class. Most classes have a middle or two in the top 10. Harvey appears to be the highest regarded middle and somewhere in the teens, if you believe rankings. So, this class will be heavy on development.

2025 Class is really strong with Pin Hitters and Setters. There are a lot of talented MBs and DS but these positions don't get as much early attention for recruiting, especially DS. Don't get caught up into these bogus rankings. I think it has been mentioned on here before some of the best in the 2025 class are playing U17 this season.

Actually, in the Class of 2024 the early commits (for the most part) were DS positions. (Outside of the obvious Top 25) This was reflective of the challenges that the 2024 class went through with covid years, portal movement, etc.. it was really unusual to see. 2025's playing 17's will not deter coaches from finding them.
