You have Ohio with a good start out of the gates but then the rest just seem to be doing avg. I'm I missing something on this conference. I see Miami as a surprise. Any comments? ESTRELLA

Ohio is a top 25 team without a doubt. They played Louisville very tough at Louisville and have not been challenge by anyone else. I look for them to go unbeaten in the MAC. I think this is the best MAC team in many, many years.

Agree with your comments about Ohio....there hasn't been a great MAC team in a long time...probably since Western Michigan in the 80's to early 90's......Miami ahould be okay but I agree that Ohio will run through the MAC.

BG took Ohio State to five, which is a good sign for them (not too good for the Buckeyes). Northern Illinois will be average for the MAC. If you can slow down McCullagh, you have a really good chance of beating them.

Hmmm.....no Ball State mentions at all? That is something! This is how it looks playing against out of conference foes. Central Michigan and Kent State looks like they are going to have a longgggg season Ohio 8-1 Miami 6-2 Eastern Michigan 5-2 Ball State 6-3 Northern Illinois 7-4 Buffalo 5-4 Akron 5-4 Bowling Green 4-4 Western Michigan 3-3 Toledo 3-5 Central Michigan 2-4 Kent State 2-6 What do you folks think about the rest of the teams? Ball state should give ohio a good run for their money. They have a good group of returners and a good trasfer libero. Not to mention a lot of height with kirby gibson and rachel refenes. Rachel has been leading the team with kills and has been puting up very good numbers. They both block a lot of balls so teams will have to rely on their passing if they are going to compete with them.

Just finished watching Miami defeat Wright State 3-2. I am not sure if this was a poor match for them but they were not impressive. Reihman was good at hitting and passing. Staun, Walters and Norris had their offensive moments but generally ineffective in putting the ball down. The setting has improved a "little" over last year but it is still below average. The hitters would be a lot more effective if they didn't always have two blockers on them. Wright State touched almost every attack. The other thing I noticed is that Miami has no middle BLOCKERS, just middle hitters. They failed to close the block over 80% of the time and Wright State just hit away untouched.
Perhaps the setting and blocking will improve in tonights match.
