according to avid though, her and linda were both better than lubian, who was dominant offensively, from the service line, and was similar or better blocking lol and i'll say it again! agendas aside, if you put Lubian on Scandicci, her numbers wouldve been as bad, if not worse. whatever lol, lubian outplayed freaking fahr this series for the most part who has a real argument for best middle in the world right now. i get it, her blocking isnt up to par with the rest of her game but she hit .433 on the series while racking up multiple aces per match. that was 13284358x more impactful than anything carol or linda did, and arguably more impactful than fahr. you even added the decimal places for everyone elses block touch percentage but left off the 9.7% off for lubian and rounded down to 9% lololol

I genuinely didnt know i did that lol meh. Wolosz didnt use Fahr at all. She hit like .600 in the last two matches of the series.

Can you explain what these stats mean? Error I assume means tooled? Block touch % is the amount of attacks they touched. Good touch % is the amount of them that were "Good" (kept the rally alive) Block error means they were tooled or hit the net (i think) For block touch %, is that touched over the total attempts (e.g. jumped)? Or over the number they should've touched (e.g. middles should touch all hitters, pins should only touch their matchup)? I'm wonder what are important stats to index on. Like which stats translate to good block reading? Which translate to good block discipline?

I'm wonder what are important stats to index on. Like which stats translate to good block reading? Which translate to good block discipline? Its their block touches/opponents total attempts. I see. That seems like a pretty skewed metric, then? For pins, you're not realistically going to triple block often, so it favors blockers whose direct matchups get set more. Also you're in back row for half the match, so it also favors players who happen to have more front row opportunities? Good touch and block error % seem like the best stat, unless you're just so late to the block you can't even get a touch on it.

If my math is correct, KP in the playoffs 127 kills, 35 errors/blocked, 243 swings. 52% kill, 0.378 efficiency

Degradi 40.0% Nice one - though I guess you've omitted Markova who comes in second at 46.0% (though with about half as many attempts as the rest). Adding to this by efficiency: - Plummer: 0.42.
- Zhu: 0.39.
- Kelsey: 0.38.
- Gennari: 0.38.
- Markova: 0.37.
- Ruddins: 0.36.
- Jatzko: 0.35.
- Lanier: 0.35.
- Skinner: 0.35.
- Herbots: 0.35.
Edit: Plak is listed as an OH on LVF, so going to bump her.

ngl for some reason markova was marked in my mind as an opposite lol i blame the playoffs. Also LVF efficiency doesnt count being blocked (so if you want American efficiency, you gotta do some more math lol)

Updated with American efficiency: - Zhu: 0.354.
- Plummer: 0.338.
- Ruddins: 0.322.
- Gennari: 0.313.
- Kelsey: 0.312.

Shook that Zhu came out on top!

I was also curious about the error rates for these top 10 most efficient hitters. For the above 10 hitters (ranked still by American efficiency), here is % forced/unforced errors (over attempts): - Zhu: 0.071.
- Plummer: 0.151.
- Ruddins: 0.087.
- Gennari: 0.098.
- Kelsey: 0.135.
- Markova: 0.161.
- Herbots: 0.098.
- Lanier: 0.130.
- Alsmeier: 0.110.
- Sylla: 0.122.
Zhu is clearly the "smartest" hitter of the outsides. In fact, I did this analysis across all outsides, and Zhu has the lowest error rate, followed by Ruddins.
I think a pretty strong case can be made that across the season, she's the best offensive outside.
