Less interested in the China vs Dominican Republic match result then the reaction. The enraged Chinese fan reaction I read always help me to improve my Chinese, hehe. The fans are demanding Cai Bin be fired and to call back Lang Ping to coach. The fans are calling Cai Bin a pigheaded moron (their words), who makes it too easy for opponents given the fact he always stick with the same roster (not quite true in all cases, but I digress). Wang Yunlu in particular was also a target of fan's wrath, saying she doesn't hold a candle compared to Zhang Changning. That she has no place on the China team roster and she should be sent home at once. Those were the more ..mild criticism. The more nasty ones.. well, it got so bad that Wang had to call police over online harassment. Some are saying Zhu Ting needs to return at once...while others say even Zhu can't save the team given how totally incompetent Cai Bin is. Yikes! Is Zhang Changning retired? |

It certainly looks that way at this point...although officially she isn't retired yet. As for Chinese fan's venom...well they are called "online red guards" for a reason. "Red guards" refers to the henchmen and oppressive enforcers of Mao's Cultural Revolution, a political campaign between 1966 to 1976 that targeted Mao's enemies in the party and triggered a decade of turmoil and chaos in the country. The red guards in particular were notorious for hounding their enemies, in some cases driving the victim to suicide. So to call them "online red guards" gives you an idea of how unforgiving Chinese fans are. |

I had no clue how many Brazilian fans there are in Thailand. This stadium is packed compared to the one in Korea.
