Well, that presuppose there was a period you were willing to give him a chance. As I recalled, you were pretty much against him from the start, no? By contrast, I was willing to give at least a chance for Cai Bin to prove himself. Sure, his first tenure coaching China was hardly inspiring. He was fired for coaching the team to underwhelming results. So yes, the prospects didn't look good when Cai Bin was given a second chance to coach China. But I was willing to give him a chance. Hoping he would have learnt his lessons from his first failed try as coach of China. But it seems increasingly that hope may be misplaced. Frankly, some of Cai Bin's coaching decisions have been...very odd, to put it mildly. Like why stick with Diao Linyu as the setter? She has not been performing well the last few matches and her setting...just isn't good, period. Maybe Cai Bin just don't know how to coach at the top international level. He simply don't have the ability to perform at this level. He's above his pay grade and it shows. Problem is, who can replace him? Who is willing to replace him? No, because he lost to the provincial team in his first tenure and everybody knows that he would be biased in favor of his Jiangsu proteges, most notably Diao Linyu.
Let An Jiajie try. At least he coached during 2017 and 2019 VNL finals.

I think even heavier words are used in pep talks or motivational speeches. This is the risk of listening to coaches during TOs. This is assuming that Santarelli can speak English properly. Which I doubt. I'm more curious as to why volleyball world will show this. Normally, they don't descend down to this sassy level, but when they are willing to show the down and dirty remarks of a coach vs a particular team, that does raise questions. Are they desperate for more views on their youtube channel? Want to add more "spice" and "drama" to the proceedings? Know thine audience. I think they know that the volleyball community is ✨spicer✨ than most so this is easy engagement and relevance. I don’t hate it

i see nothing wrong with it. these are professionals athletes. they are used to much worse and they are by no means dainty. the problem is the official FIVB/VBW using it as rage bait for engagement… No one cares what Santarelli said in a timeout (or they shouldn’t) I’m sure worse has been said

They’re definitely doing this for more engagement. I also heard the person who is managing volleyballworld account is from Brazil. they’re Filipino And they’re on VT lol Fine they’re filipino. But they’re still doing this more engagement lol

Put pressure! They don’t have quality, when pass is exclamative or negative they don’t have quality!" So, he basically said: " Let’s keep on putting pressure with our serve, since their attack is lacking of quality when their pass is exclamative or negative". Is this an insult? Lol

Lol I mean they could read it either way. I don’t think it’s a problem for Santarelli to say it in a timeout… I’m sure Ze was saying the same thing about Nicole Davis in 2012 I think it’s problematic for VBW to try to make a thing of it on social media

Well if he let his personal bias override his better judgement, then he isn't a coach worthy to be at the top level, so what you said supports my point. As for An Jiajie, Lang Ping was grooming him to be her replacement, but Chinese fans doubt his ability. True, he did led China to the World Grand Champions Cup in 2017, but on that occasion, Lang Ping was actually aiding him with "shadow coaching" from the sidelines. So the jury is still out on whether An Jiajie got the goods to be the coach of China. But I suppose at this point, given how incompetent Cai Bin increasingly appears to be, there is no harm for An Jiajie to replace him. Can't be any worse I suppose at this point.

Not all curry taste the same.
