It might be better to have cubicle make the thread.

PSU started so I think this is fair game. Returning Starters: Chakas, Galloway, Sheward, Voss Likely New Starters: Nusterer, Choy (Sheward to setter) Honestly the Opposite spot is a giant question mark. Todd has had basically zero play time this season, while Nusterer and Choy have been clearly prepared to play as starters in multiple games. I wonder if we see Galloway or Chakas move to the right, but our OH depth isn’t that much more impressive than our OPP depth without Humler and Akana. I actually think if Buchanan doesn't speed up his progress by next season then Shewie def gets moved back to setter. It's to hold out for Tread, Finn and Ofeck to come right on in the following year after that. Hawaii definitely will be back in the NCAAs

I am glad a different poster has decided to make this thread. It seems like the same old fogey always ends up being the one to beat everyone to it. Thank you.

I think Sheward’s close to equally effective in both positions, so it’s probably between Choy and Buchanan to see who can lock into a spot first. The rumored Graduate setter might also contend, who knows.

Personally, id put Sheward back at setter immediately in the off season. But if Buchanan can get things going or really works hard in the off season. He is 6'8, puts up a great block, has a nice little spin to his jump serves and has decent hands. It's his set location at times which has been the issue. But Shewie is my preferred go to for setter one more year.

Buchanan needs to train with the Worsley's in the offseason.

Yup. If you look at Hawaii 2023...it was immediately crested after Hawaii won last season. Lol

Very low are his chances. I think people and including myself are really underestimating what Alakai Todd can do at Oppo. He obviously isnt like Dimi but he can certainly play really well at spurts. If he really wants it then I expect Todd to go hard in the off season cause it really is set up for him to take over at least before Finn arrives. I honestly feel that unless they bring in some well qualified Senior/grad student Oppo then I have no doubt the offense will run heavily around Spyros, Chaz, Voss and Nuerster. With Thelle gone, I think they may dial up the middles more.
