I'm liking the new black unis they were using for picture and media day on IG story. Simple and not super busy looking. Definitely more what I prefer as well. |

I like Payne's quickness and fast arm He's got some heat! Definitely reminiscent of Pat Gasman running straight into the gap and thumping straight down. My favorite hit was that one-legged take off behind the setter who was running past him. That's different for boy's/men's volleyball. |

Though, I'm not sure how a slide would fit into men's game since the D is such a viable option. Maybe you could run a C behind? I'm not sure if that helps draw attention away from the D more than just running a 1. Personally, I prefer the middles to run gaps instead to overload. |

Dalton Solbrig comes to mind as an even better step out than Cole. |

I believe the #1 recruiting class that year was Long Beach with DeFalco, Ensing, Tuaniga Yes! If we're talking about how classes stacked against each other on a national scale, that is THEE class. Multiple time all-Americans, national champions and eventual Olympians. Hawaii's class, as great as they were, are a distant second to The Beach's class. As much as it pains me to agree, that group of DeFalco and Co were 10-2 against SVT and Co. |

Any updates on Mandic?
That he is still in school makes me think it's an eligibility issue that needs to be cleared up. I'm still hoping we get to see what the "best" international recruit Hawaii has had can do.

He posted to his story a bit ago in one of his classes showing classmates where he's from(?). I get that feeling also. If his amateur status is gone, there would be no reason for him to stay. He would be back in Serbia. The fact that he is still in school, tells me that he may be a class or two short of minimum requirements and is working to remedy that situation. Other athletes might be forced to go JC and take those classes to gain eligibility but maybe Mandic being a foreign student, is allowed to remain at UH to make it up. My hope is that he get added back to the roster after the fall semester and can pick up from there for the spring. |
