if Ecza could have gotten herbots they win everything next year imo now that Simge is back to good form and having Plummer and gray to play for Hande if needed they would find a way to bottle it. Theyre officially the Arsenal of turkish vb bc they lost to a better team in a best of 5 series ? In the 5th match ?

ugh i hate her lol. Begic simply isnt good enough. I meant a 2way foreign oh that can pass a little more reliably than Voronkova (or at least as reliable) but instead they signed “bigger stronger gray” Hande is the best Turkish oh except maybe İlkin, who Gala will not let go easily Hmm.. I guess the option should've been Herbots, but she's not leaving Scandicci. there's also Cazaute (Who was already signed) or Ishikawa. Yeah, was there anyone on the table even? We're in a bit of a lull around all star outsides that can pass and score with the US exodus and decline of Zhu/KYK. The Italian clubs are good at keeping the Italians/main stars. I wonder how much money Ecza offered to Arina, Gabi, or AC (if they did). Probably hard to get a player to move to a different club in the same league if she's used to beating that club.

part of me wishes Britt was going to Ecza next season lol
Scandicci has potential but I’m worried about the other outside, but I’m hoping that means Maja sets Britt next season like she set Zhu this season.

Seems that Arina's dad liked the post saying that she's going to China the next season... She will replace Vargas in Tianjin (not confirmed tho)

Yeah there really aren’t many good all around outsides. Like we have outsides that can score and outsides that can pass, but few that can do both at a high level. We used to have KYK, Natalia, Tom, Fe Garay, Larson (her attacking is not what it used to be but still love her), etc. Besides Gabi, Herbots, 2024 Kelsey… like who else is there? Cazaute? Sylla…?

Some thoughts and memories from attending last night's match ...
It was, of course, an incredible experience to be a part of. It was surreal, and I'm so thankful that I was successful in actually getting a ticket for it.
The atmosphere was, of course, electric.
That said, I do think that there was in fact a smaller percentage of volleyball fans there and a higher percentage of general Fenerbahçe sports fans. However, the main ultras section, so to speak, the season-ticket holders, had the same personality that they always have, and it was still electric throughout the facility. Just a different type of overall electricity than the first two Fenerbahçe-hosted matches of the series.
I ended up sitting in the area that I often do, a little higher up, in the corner between the most avid home fans at center-court across from the benches and the away section in the upper level to the left of the bench on the left (from the players' perspectives) - i.e. not where my ticket put me, which was at the highest level, the 400 level, on the opposite end of the facility.
There's a ledge behind the top row at the two ends, where many sit instead of wherever their assigned seat is. Last night, those ledges ended up being completely packed. (Usually, the ledges are never fully packed, not even when the match sells out.) Not only that, but the stairs were full of people sitting on them too. (I had never before seen that there either.) Lots more than usual were also standing in the front, at the barrier of the second level looking down on the court - i.e. in front of the front row seats and stairs.
My theory is that with how they did ticket sales, many avid volleyball fans like me who actually did get tickets were, like me, stuck in the 300 and 400 levels and didn't want to be there so had the same idea that I did, sit down lower wherever we could find that wasn't an assigned seat.
Also, if that ticketing strategy for last night's match was done with the intent to lessen how many Eczacıbaşı fans were there, it didn't work in that sense either. There were significantly more Eczacıbaşı fans there last night than there were for the first two Fenerbahçe-hosted matches. The away section actually stretched to me, which has never happened before. I ended up being right on the edge of it, sitting next to Eczacıbaşı fans.
Before the match, I had settled in my spot at 5:30 p.m., 90 minutes before first serve, and watched the arena fill up and the atmosphere build, and then stayed for 90 minutes after it ended, for the long wait for the post-match ceremony, the ceremony itself and the celebrations that followed the ceremony, which included the Fener players and fans singing together. By the time I left, there weren't all that many people still in the building.
Anyway, it was so amazing to be a part of all of that last night.
Congratulations to Fenerbahçe. Condolences to Eczacıbaşı.

Boskovic 18 out of the teams 41 kills. 4 out of the teams total 6 aces. 22 points in 3 sets. Yes she made bad errors at the end. Nobody will deny that. But this loss is not on her alone Hande hit negative. Stevanovic hit negative. Irina hit 0. Beyza didn’t even have an attempt offensively or a block. But thank god they didn’t start Alexa, right?!

(I’m jk, I don’t care if he wants to start someone whose skills are consistently bad across the board over someone who can actually kill the ball but can’t pass it.)

Ferhat kinda did what he could in-game. But Lavarini came in with a far better prepared team that was ready for everything Ecza threw at them (albeit also with better talent)
