For someone who hasn't played much this year it seems like Florian has become a focal point of the offense tonight. 35 attacks so far, most of either team.

Gophers win 30-17 and take match in 4 games. Looks like they struggled in the first 2 games but turned it on in the last 2.

Florian played extensively tonight and had 37 attacks. Does this mean she has replaced Vatterodt and Cumpston? Will the LS be Florian and Roehrig? RS Bowman and Byrnes? Where does this leave Peniata; DS only or will she still play the front row?
Lots of questions going into the Big 10 season. Still, better than the questions we had after last year when the question was who would replace Tree and Marty.

From watch livestats it seemed that TCU was focusing on the Gopher left side attackers the first couple of games but Mn must have been passing the ball well enough overall to keep the Nelson, Byrnes, and Jones active and open up the left side attacks somewhat.
Florian especially, but also Peniata we getting more kills in the last 2 games.
It also looks like the Gophers were running a 6-2 against against TCU with 32 assists for Bowman and 18 for Hartman.

It was Florian and Peniata tonight. I don't see any indication Peniata won't be starting the Big10 season at OH -- or any reason why she shouldn't.
Vatterrodt hasn't been playing much lately. Cumpston started tonight (1-3-8 (.250)) and was replaced by Florian.
I don't have a problem with this lineup, especially since they can replace Peniata in the front row whenever they want.
Byrnes had a nice match.
Nelson was tournament MVP. Bowman and Gentil also on the All-Tournament team.
Are they ready for the Big10 season? We'll soon find out.

The Gopher matches at Wisconsin and Northwestern next weekend ought to test them a lot since both the Badgers and the Wildcats seem to be playing pretty well.
Northwestern swept Kentucky today: 30-28, 30-25, 30-27.
