UCSB up early 8-4 If gametracker is correct, UCSB is up 11-4 and St. Marys has called a TO Game tracker has frozen at 13-8

UCSB website says this game is live on the radio? Can't seem to get it? Anyone? They lied. It's not on KCSB, there is some music program playing. Supposedly CSTV has a ppv radio link.

UCSB hanging in there 22-20 25-25 27-25 St Marys calls their 2nd TO Gauchos win game 1 on a Hendrickson kill 30-28 (A significant improvement in play over the last few matches. Now will see if the Gauchos not only can get it up, but keep it up.)

They had technical issues but the game is not on KCSB. Either 91.9FM in the SB area or online via webcast at www.kcsb.org/webcastIt's free too.

Gauchos were up 11-10 but are losing ground rapidly 14-17 Once again hitting errors are killing us. 7 errors and 9 kills. Now 9 kills 9 errors If you can't hit hard for whatever reason you MUST hit smart. 15-19 Gauchos falling apart now 18-26 rotation violation 20-28 20-30 Sandell and Blackshire are both hitting negative. Also, Kathy is doing something really weird. Waldowski has not taken a swing in the match. She seeems to go in occasionaly for Dutro but for the most part is riding the pine. I really don't understand that unless she is sick or injured?

UCSB is just killing themselves. Blackshire is just stinking up the game. Two hitting errors in a row followed by a serving error. 8-11 12-13 14-17 Once again St Marys with 2 errors, UCSB with 6 17-22 TO UCSB 25-28 I'll give the Gauchos credit in this game, thye have had a number of chances to fold and have not. 27-29 27-30 Man, I REALLY with the announcers would learn the words hit and kill. She keeps saying X "put that ball down" whether its a kill or its dug. That makes her calls very hard to understand. Waldowski basically riding the bench the whole match.

UCSB's first attampt in game 3 was an error (fancy that) by Sandell and she got yanked.
Gauchos down 1-3 2-6 Sandell back in fo a kill. Matthess in for Dutro 4-10 2 straight setting errors by Mstthess 9-11 12-12 Walkon frosh setter Matthess and frosh OH McLaughlin leading the charge for UCSB
After a tie at 14-14 its now 15-18. (KG should have called a TO but leaves it up to her team)
17-18. 21-27 Gauchos folding (Our hitting was 9 kills 2 errors, now it is 10 and 5) 22-30 Game ends on a Gaucho hitting error, seems appropriate

Man, what a weird group of stats (assuming livestats is correct). Sandell, Waldowski and Blackshire combine to hit negative. How did we even win a game? Tomorrow's gonna be ugly

I saw some small improvement (I hope?). We played two good games. It looked like we weren't just willing to hand the match over to St. Marys. Also, I'm happy that Kathy decided to start subbing some bench for starters. It's time to see who wants to play. I still haven't seen anything of our top ranked recruit, OH Jaimarie Sutherland. Given our hitting control problems, I wonder why that is.
and yes, I fear tomorrow night we are going to be beaten like a red headed stepchild.

Why the heck is UCSB ranked in the top 25?
What an overrated team, and program.

Not really sure how much merit you can give UCSB in game one. St.Mary's had 5 serving errors and 6 hitting errors and I did not count the serve/recieve errors in that game alone. Pretty embarrasing stuff for the Gaels and more so for the Gauchos for not creaming them with such low level play.
St. Mary's started to get it together in game two tightening up their defense and reducing their hitting and serving errors, but still struggled with the passing until late in the game. Taylor Groess came in to serve for Lauren Holland and did a stellar job. I don't think she had an error the entire match.
Missie Stidham really got cranking in the last three games and even though she had trouble hitting from the back row, made it look easy hitting from the outside. Christina Kirk and Brittany Barker put on a blocking clinic pretty much either touching every ball if not outright blocking it back into UCSB's court for them to dig back up again.
Definitely not their best effort. Maybe something to do with the fact that they drove back to Moraga night before last and did not get in until midnight and then had to attend class all day and drive back to Stanford for a 5 pm match. They seemed a little flat starting out.

If you continue to use you logic for game 1, over games 2-4, then St. Marys gets little credit for those wins, because UCSB tanked it.

Same logic???
St. Mary's played poorly with many errors and lost to UCSB who was also playing poorly. St. Mary's started to play better and won against a UCSB that was still playing poorly.
Hopefully there is no fault in that logic, at least that is what I thought I was conveying.
