Will O'Neal start or will we see Gates?? Can Nuneviller redeem herself? Will Hentz make her defensive libero return? Does RJP have a chance at playing or are we saving her for the Fearsome Korea? Do we rest Drews and let loose GOATtino?? Will the double sub ever return from the war?!?! all this and more on next week’s DRAGON BALL Z

We shouldn’t judge Brooke off one game but
Khalia’s passing was fine. When she’s passing well enough, it’s in everyone’s interest to keep her in.

I’m still surprised that he pulled Rettke for O’Neal, that was a shocker. Dana has to be quicker to the pins. If she can't close the block, she will probably continue to be on the outside, looking in for one of the top 3-4 MB slots. Butler and O'Neal look good. She also wasn’t hitting well.

Her offense is definitely what she brings to the table. Her lateral movement to the pins still needs some work, IMO.

Basically traveled from Italy after finals, Chicago a couple days and off to Cali for a couple days, and then off to Turkey.

Rettke was kind of a unicorn in college, but in the pros, her height without vertical, lateral quickness, or great blocking means that you better be able to hit the high D ball like Gamova.

She actually did play in multiple of the matches in the finals, plus the semifinals and quarterfinals, so while she didn’t start, she was having to play, be ready to come in, and train the entire time. So not much of a break compared to the rest of the folks on that roster. Add that to having only two days to train with the rest of the team (meaning fewer reps with the setter) and the back and forth travel from Europe, there was bound to have a negative effect on her performance. Just seems baffling to bring her for week one with so little rest when every other player who had that long of a pro season (the players from the Italian finals and CEV finals) is getting to rest.

Who was supposed to go in her place I wonder?

Anyways, will we see the same starting line up today that we saw in match 1?

... Can Nuneviller redeem herself? ... I think Nuneviller already has. After getting aced out in set 3 she passed fine in set 4 - not going into a mental funk is the big thing she needed to show. Sure, she's got a lot more to prove, but that bounce-back was already a big deal. That is the issue with KP - she's a good enough passer to justify playing, but then she gets inside her own head and doesn't come out.
