One thing I liked watching this match was US serving. Too many errors, but it was more effective at getting Italy out of system. Much better than against Serbia. Kevin Hambly approves your message. |

Finally got around to watching, just finished set 3. Some initial thoughts: - RJP and Lanier both look very solid. RJP held up on defense very well, and she actually looks pretty good on those fast sets. Some looked a bit low, but she still worked with them. She was able to sneak it just under the middle blocker's left shoulder so many times.
- Nwakalor looked great until she didn't. I swear she and Drews have like the lowest vision among any of the opposites for elite teams. Can someone pull up stats to see how often they swing into the block?
Side note: I just learned that Nwakalor is only 5'10"? That's crazy. Homegirl jumps freaking high! - Cuttino offers nothing. Probably the worst defender of any of the USA opposites, and very limited hitting range. Her first swing (on the left) of the game was an unforced error
- Sylla looks rough. I gave her a pass this club season because she was hitting off Orro, but she does not look good offensively today.

USA has 6 sets of data against an opponent's B team. lol okay even if I was being 100% serious, I have a full club season of Lanier and Skinner being better than those three vets lol How was Lanier better than any of those veterans? She scored more points because she was Bergamo’s only real pin threat and was delivered most of the sets. Her efficiency was okay, not good. Her block was weak. Her passing efficiency was solid, but not great. She didn’t play against any CL teams and only played Conegliano, Scandicci, Milano and Novara twice each. So her litmus was fairly blah. |
