I thought we need someone who is steady in receiving, that is why they bring back larson. 😄 she needs to outperform plummer in the NT and Conegliano to prove she is better and not a same player.

You just never know how these middles will transition from NCAA to pro. Dana seemed like a sure thing... well I'm not sure anymore. Asjia doing really well... no expectations and what probably helps but still her play so far is a great harbinger. You know, people were super hyped about Dana. But, honestly, her lack of speed and bad block eyework/closing capabilities always made her suspect. I feel like it was mostly the Wisconsin-colored glasses. Because her game really never translated well to the international level (not a knock on her, just an observation). Personally, I thought maybe as an Opp, but even then, not really.

I'm beginning to think that Hart might be the middle to eventually come out of the Wisconsin program for Team USA.

I will admit to being wrong about one thing: I thought Dasani was going to be the difference maker and she was not. Where's Folie when you need her?! Danesi is not very fast in lateral movement and, on her own, cannot do much. Folie left the national team more than a year ago to preserve herself physically. Danesi was the best blocker in Italy this past season… and it wasn’t even close😉

There is a tendency to underestimate Danesi. Which is a good thing.

Rettke's play this last season for Milano (both in A1 and Champions League) show she does pretty dang well on the international level. I believe she received match MVP for Milano multiple times this past season as well as having had the best attacking efficiency and percentage in the Champions League tournament. Seemed to translate just fine.

Lanier seems like the prototype national team outside - could be like a younger Larson. So Ithank you Larson but it’s time for the younger gen.

I think she's shown she can be a real star, but it's because she's an Easy/Hodge who can apparently pass better, not because she's like a Larson. A healthy Easy/Hodge who can pass should terrify the rest of the world

According to BGM:
Lanier - 2.23 on 22 balls Hentz - 2.2 on 12 balls Jones-Perry - 2.07 on 37 balls Skinner - 2.05 on 3 balls Nuneviller - 2.16 on 4 balls
And for the record: Annie had 10 digs. 1 shy of Hancock and Jones-Perry's 11 digs a piece. Hentz had 17 (Panetoni had 19).
Lanier only had 4 digs 😭😭😭 but her Good Defensive Touch % was much higher than Annie's 😭😭😭
