IDK that you can say "carried" because that implies that others around her didn't perform and she made up for their shortcomings. Overall she was the team's leading scorer and her experience really showed in the 5th set, shaking off a sub-par 3rd set and an abysmal 4th. So she had a good day. We also had Good Dana and Good Micha today, JWO turned it on when the chips were down and solid performances from Skinner, O'Neal |

But passing is pretty bad, this is expected. We need kROB/Larson back Passers sometimes improve with experience and over time. There is some potential here. Not sure we need both. Hopefully with more experience the young outsides will be more consistent with their passing. The good thing is they’re already passers and are not gonna try what JT attempted when they made her a receiving outside in club - but then she realized just to focus on being an opposite. I agree don’t need both of Larson/Krob. It has to be one or the other. If you had both of them play together, people might not be too happy with what they see unless the US attempts to funnel everything to middles and oppo! Great work today from Skinner and Lanier. Both are promising national team prospects! |

Dana/Asjia were ON it today. This was such a good performance for such a young squad, I feel for Butler but she just was not giving it and you could see in her eyes that Turkiye was really frustrating her. It was a great substitution for O'Neal in who absolutely played like a veteran out there. Lanier/Skinner ate up (we're going to ignore the 2 back to back blocks in that one set tho). For a pretty seasonal Turkiye team, this was a great win for everyone.

we totally abandoned Skinner in the back row today… weird. Drews only that one bic today too after she had like 4 in that game the other day😭 Annie ate on it and it actually looked pretty ridiculous lol what part of the match was it in? i remember it, but don't know what set it was during |

OK finally finished watching. I skipped set 4 tho. I deserve better than to see that.
JWO was back to herself. She was quick. She was taking charge. I loved every second of it.
I was always a casual fan of O'Neal because, gross, you want me to stan Texas? But wow oh wow I didn't expect her to catch onto the international game so quickly. She's gonna be fun to watch develop overseas.
It cannot be stressed enough how Lanier and Skinner didn't let any of these matches get to them. They might've had some bad moments, but they never cracked. Their passing stayed solid even when their offense slipped. Proud of their focus and really happy to have a pair of promising OHs like them.
Hancock and Annie were great leaders this week. They both made some really solid plays in the 5th set. They weren't perfect. But I think they did what Karch ultimately needed from them in Week 1.
We love you Donna. Unbiased, of course.
(Melissa Vargas, please don't make me a stan. My roster is already so full 😭😭😭)
