I'm surprised no thread on this game. I just got back from the game. Man, both of these teams can really stink it up. Sophia Milo did go on a little tear in game 2, and Bibiana had a few really nice shots, but overall, both teams are so distant from their glory days 2-3 years ago. Sad sad sad.
Oh, USC won 3-0, but they were down in both games 2 and 3 for a good while.
And speaking of glory days, saw Emily Adams, Nicole Davis, Toni Anderson, Katie Olsovsky, and April Ross at the game. I think Keao Burdine was there as well, but I'm not positive, since she didn't sit with the others, and didn't even say hi when she walked by. So it may not have been her.
Also, Tyler Hildebrand and Robert Tarr were there watching, as was James Ka from Pepperdine.

I've always thought Pepperdine was overrated. They never really seemed to have that killer instinct that many of the powerhouse programs do. I would put San Diego, Santa Clara, and even Loyola Marymount ahead of the Waves. Milo is a great player and I've always liked Breegan Mulligan... but after that, it gets kind of dicey, imho. However, their freshman Julie Rubenstein is their leading point scorer I believe, so hey, maybe there's hope for them in the future.
As for USC... it'll get better next year with (a hopefully healthy!) Gysin and Carico in the mix. Of course, if Carico can work her teammate magic on Alix Klineman, then USC automatically shoots back to the top. If they don't, they'll need some of their hitters to step it up, imho.

Not surprising given their tiny fanbase, which translates to an even tinier VT representation.

I was not impressed with Milo at all when UH played Pepp. last year. She seemed very slow and ungainly, not something you want in a MB. Could have just been two off nights, I guess...

I could not agree with you more. I do not think Pepperdine deserves a #28 ranking; they should be higher. USC does not desrve a #12 ranking; they should be lower.
