I don't know what the rush is. These girls should take their time and visit these schools. Make sure it is a good fit. Do you honestly believe their parents would allow them to commit without having visited the school previously? I'd wager that all or close to it have already camped at these schools and made other unofficial visits and attended home matches; not much else you can learn on official visits that you didn't already know (other than perhaps visiting with professors and looking in on actual classes). Yes, I think parents will allow a kid to commit without visiting a school. It happens all the time across all sports in college.

I wonder now that the covid year is going to have a smaller effective on 2025 and no effect on 2026, if coaches with feel the need to lock up kids quicker. Also wonder if we will see more kids back out of commitments down the road. If I was in a PSA's spot... accept the offer go visit and if you like it great but if you don't like it open recruiting back up. Football and Basketball players do it all the time. I'm not saying I am a big fan but coaches constantly talk out of both side of their mouth when recruiting plus if a coach demands an answer on June 15th (or shortly after) then they should realize the consequence could be the PSA backing out of a rushed decision.

I’ve heard of numerous commits already to prominent programs but will let those players make their own announcements. It seems the class of 2025 is having a substantially easier time than 2024. That extra Covid year really impacted numerous programs for 2024s. Congrats to the 2025s for having a smoother path. June 15, 2022 coaches: what’s the rush, let’s get to know each other *then ghosts June 15, 2023 coaches: You get an offer! You get an offer! You get an offer! Lol This is so sport on for June 15, 2022. I'm laughing and crying.

The thing that is remarkably different about volleyball that would have to change (and no reason it can’t - just takes a few programs to break the seal and have success with it) is that programs/coaches do a great job of respecting commitments. They’ve seen the mutual assured destruction in other sports and have decided as a community of coaches they don’t want that for their sport. But if someone (or someones) ends up demonstrating they can gain a competitive advantage by continuing to recruit players who have made a commitment, then Katy bar the door. There’s so much riding on talent acquisition, I could see that dynamic changing easily. But we’ll see. It is refreshing to follow a sport where the commitments tend to stick by and large.

Kelly Sheffield put his patented "Bingo" up on his Twitter account. I think he usually lets the player make the first announcement and nothing yet from Dennis Punzel, the Badger volleyball reporter for the Wisconsin State Journal. Anybody plugged-in on this one? Go Badgers.
