I find it interesting how some are willing to trade a bit more offensive power on the pin for a sizable gap in passing. Very ironic given that we just played Japan, who put on a defense / passing show, and frustrated us all night.
Volleyball 101 – It all begins with the pass. When we get a good pass and are in-system, we have a ton of weapons and are hard to beat. JWO and KRob give us great passing, but across the board, we aren’t Japan. Looking forward to one last run with Larson next year.

For the drama If Plummer had laniers statline people (myself included) would be tearing her to shreds rn lmfao As they should, because if Plummer stans promised 100%, Lanier stans only promised like 30%.

How did I miss that - ha!
We had a huge size and power advantage, and yet they played us extremely tough and even beat our Bs in the prelims, primarily due to excellent floor defense and passing. My point is that passing is extremely important and can equalize a lot with smothering defense. As such, I’m pointing out the importance of KRob and Larson vs another bomber.
(BTW I love terminal offense as much as anyone FWIW)

The four outside hitters are all great...all well-balanced... why humiliate anyone... Lanier did decent(facing Japan's great defense) in first/second set in attacking besides passing so many balls and having so many digs..Kelsey passing is sooo great and defense is soooo great and she still gets 11 kilss..... Frantti with great energy comes off the bench and passes well enough/defend OK/kill OK.... Not to mention Skinner's great attack performance...Facing Japan, everyone is tired, and switching players is great strategy.
Hancock best finds out how to connect JT, this is a problem. And also, make sure do not make many mistakes. The attacking percentage maybe bad, but Japan is a great defense team. When you win a match, that means you need to compare your stats/skills with your opponent and yours is superior. Please stop criticizing....

Plummer wouldn't pass a 2.33 on 23 balls or defend the way Khalia defended. Khalia also had 3x as many blocks last night as Plummer did total in the VNL prelims. It's also not Plummer's second month ever on a USA squad. say what you want. Her offense statline was TRAGIC and even so you know what I said is true lol. Besides the stats, the eye test doesn't agree with this narrative. |
