It's like complaining about an orange because it doesn't taste like an apple.
But OK. There's two separate discussions here: 1) how US VB compares to the rest of the world (although is it elite VB or comparable levels?) and 2) the relative merits of programs in the US. Since we can't schedule anything other than programs in the US, I'm not sure why 1) was brought up--at least in the way it was introduced in this topic.

Maybe my evaluations can be compared to the following: Translation: "Let me avoid answering your question by providing a long-winded, snooty analogy." Oh lord...is this guy really writing this? Why am I reading this? Translation: "See how I cleverly inject the fact that I've been to Moscow? This makes me better than you." Translation: "Everyone here is too stupid to understand my complex analysis of ballet." "And our standards are, like, so totally WAY up there." Gee, how...charitable of you. Bottom line: "I am so snooty, I can barely stand to be in the same room with any of you people." Well-disguised insult. Translation: "Stupid, crude Americans. So uncultured, so unrefined, unlike me. I've seen ballet!" That's one of the greatest non-answer answers I've read in a long time. Way to go.

Can't help myself... calabriavavamalamadingdong, who in your opinion is a good college team this year. (this ought to be good) Who, in your VAST experience, meets your HIGHLY VAUNTED standards? Since the rest of us, obviously, have no idea what we're talking about in saying that Stanford, Penn State, and Hawaii are good. Please, GRACE us with your divine knowledge...(holding breath) There ARE none, silly! 'Cause if they played any non-US international team they would get laughed off the court. Geez, haven't you been paying attention?

calabriavb, when you start a collegiate thread on the collegiate forum and then say you don't think Stanford, Penn State, or Hawai'i is very good, you'll lose credibility.

Most countries outside the US don't have collegiate volleyball, let alone good college sports. It is a ridiculous comment on so many levels.

SilverSurfer: Your analyis was hilarious. I got a sideache. In all seriousness though it appears that all the idiots understand the main point. The subject of relativity <---not spelled correctly cause I am one of the idiots.
Now to the original poster. Let me get you started on your next post. Instead of starting out how everyone in the US does not measure up to your exacting standards, you might start out something like this.
While NU is doing reasonably well compared to their peers, i.e. other US college teams, I feel that compared to the rest of the world that US Collegiate volleyball is inferior to International volleyball because.........
