biggest disappointment: the legions of people online who constantly misspell all forms of "disappoint."

I don't know that Purdue is a "surprise." You could see this continued success coming, knew it was in the works.
Notre Dame was a surprise, now they're a disappointment. Fickle, no?
Iowa State is a surprise, if only for one match so far.
UCSB is a disappointment. Georgia Tech.

If you look back before the season, I think you will find points where I claimed that it was entirely realistic for Purdue to be going into big ten play with only one loss. I don't think 12 - 0 is all that big of a difference from 11 - 1. Yeah, their win over Tennessee was a (bittersweet) surprise, but it shouldn't be a shock to anyone paying attention.

ACC and Big West. So far, both disappointments.
Ohio State is not nearly as good as I thought they'd be.
Colorado State, too. Utah, until their win over Santa Clara (and SC has been a slight surprise).

It has been a rough season – UCSB and LBSU are not playing that well and the BOWS have their problems.

Miami (OH) lost to Northern Colorado, Virginia Tech and went 5 before beating Wright State 15-13....how does this make them a surprise?

I'm gonna have to put Hawaii on the table. They are definately a great team, but I am surprised that they haven't yet been able to pull off a win against a top team. 5-5 at this point is disappointing, when you consider how much hype they had coming into the season.
