Hey match threadmakers! The last two seasons we subdivided thread-making duties for the NCAA tournament matches using a table and that worked well in getting threads made for every match. If y'all are good with that approach, I'm happy to do that again this year for each round. I included our 2022 first round table below as a reminder of what I'm talking about. As the first round matches are revealed next Sunday night during the tourney reveal show, I'd fill out a similar table with the first round. We'll tag everyone who regularly covers the tournament teams and conferences and anyone else willing to make some match threads. There's at least one such threader (who has two thumbs and) a home team that's all but out from tourney contention and will be looking to adopt another team for the tourney- I'd love to cover Pitt's matches not against any of your home teams if that's good with everyone. Last year we did individual threads for each match. I thought that was cool. Are folks good with doing the individual match threads again this year? I figured I'd tag a subset of our usual devoted match threadmakers (and recent match thread retiree, vballfan17 ) to start the conversation and maybe y'all can weigh in on whether you're planning to make match threads for the tournament, which teams, etc. Anything else tournament-related that comes to mind. I could've waited for next weekend but between Thanksgiving festivities I don't expect we'll have as much time to chat about this. Once we learn the first round matches from the bracket reveal, I'll expand the group of tags to include our more sporadic match threaders and see if we can cover all our bases. I didnt help last year, but willing to this season. Ill let baytree cover PAC matches. I can help with MW, WCC, Big West, and Big12 matches if they arent against PAC or B1G teams. |

exit237a - I’m up for it. I’d prefer, I think, to do all three matches (using 3 threads) in a subregional (or six threads/matches for two subregionals, depending on how many thread-makers participate). And obviously, I’d like to do the subregional that includes Minnesota (I may be presumptuous here). Once it gets to regionals, I’m not sure how things should be divided. Maybe the folk who normally do matches for one or both teams in the matches, and random assignment of volunteers for any that don’t have a dedicated thread-maker. Then some random rock-scissor-paper-lizard-Spock for any match that has two teams each with a dedicated thread-maker. But any way you want to do/assign things will work for me.
