Born in 1925, Holloway came to West Lafayette at the end of WWII. "The Navy sent me to Purdue in 1944, and I knew nothing about it," Holloway said in 2008. "It was just a wonderful, wonderful thing that happened to me, being able to come to Purdue. I feel like I owe Purdue 50 cents of every dollar I've ever made. That's how much I love this university." During his time as a student, he served as the sports editor for Purdue's student newspaper, the Exponent. Holloway met his wife, Doris, while they were registering for classes. All four of the couple's children and two of their grandchildren attended Purdue. Holloway was a great donor and friend to all Purdue athletics during his life. He died in 2016 at the age of 91. Bob Holloway, photographed in front of the athletic facility that bears his name, a few days before his death in May, 2016.The volleyball team has practiced and played in Holloway Gymnasium since it was first built in 1982. The original court was the first one in the country to be fully painted and lined for volleyball only, unobstructed by a basketball court.

Holloway is so close to Halloween. When Bucky played there on October 31 in 2021 it was truly scary as Bucky lost. One of the few losses for the national championship team.

Why would you leave Devyn in to serve? In 2021 when Boyer was a regular DS, she was the only player on the team who had as many aces as errors serving, 22 aces and 22 errors. Barnes didn't have as many aces as errors, Civita didn't, Izzy didn't. Only Boyer did. (Not to mention floor defense for that half-rotation.)

Watching how the badgers played that match and how Sheffield didnât make any adjustments to account for the teamâs deficiencies, yes, it was an embarrassment. Regardless of the score, that was a very winnable match for Wisconsin and it was lost due to Sheffieldâs decision to shuffle the entire lineup. Trust, I am a joy to be around on the daily. No reason for you to try and insult people just because you donât agree with them đ¤ˇââď¸

Her serve looked good in the one match we got to see it. 2. Could allow for her and Izzy to run a few D-ball plays and give us another attacking option outside of Franklin and Booth for rotation 4, similar to what San Diego did last year with Grace Frohling.

"Her serve" is the correct way to say it. In the year and 3/4ths I've been tracking the server sideout percents, Devyn has served exactly one ball. UW won the point, and it ended the set. There may be some 'ran out of subs' case in the 2021 seasons that I don't recall, but it is quite possible that her one serve this year is the one and only serve she has attempted at Wisconsin. Again and on the other hand, Boyer's serve is a well known and very good commodity. I don't know what it is, but people forget or tend to play down the significant role she played during the 2021 season. I don't know why; overshadowed by Barnes and Civita, I guess.

That is a very fair point. I thought she made a few servers, but good to know it was just one đ Iâd still be willing to run with Devyn serving for at least a set, if anything just to see how she does and how sheâd look attacking/defending from the back row; Iâm sure theyâve been working on all of it in practice. If it doesnât work, definitely bring in Boyer.

Looks like Smrek traveled with the team! Wonder if she will play.

Anna doesn't even need to hit. Just jumping with her arms up and pressed over every time is already providing more for us than TTA on the right. But of course, if the symptoms are still lingering or concussion protocol still hasn't been cleared, then Smrek should rest.

Is it typical for someone un concussion protocol to travel? Did they take the bus or fly?
Even if she isn't under protocol because she just got cleared, she has not practiced for quite a while and may sit anyway.
