Deme Morales agrees.
I remember when Deme was playing against Texas in the semi-final and making the blockers look like headless chickens. The announcers even mentioned that the JE had to bring in smaller blockers to try and handle her. I couldn't help but laugh at the situation.
she was insane that match Didn’t she hit zero or am I thinking of another player/game?

she was insane that match Didn’t she hit zero or am I thinking of another player/game? The kill at the end got her into positive numbers.

Honestly what I remember about that game is it seemed like no one hit well for either team, Texas blocked better, but (other than Texas-Nebraska 2021) I have never seen such a lopsided serve/pass game. Wisconsin destroyed Texas in that aspect - it seemed like Texas was NEVER in system. And when they did get a good pass, Allison/Collins were not it😂 Take this all with a grain of salt, because this is going by ten year ago memory lol

she was insane that match Didn’t she hit zero or am I thinking of another player/game? Barely hit positive. But she 14 kills and didn't get into a funk despite being blocked a fair amount. Her play was really key at the end of the last set, despite that one cute error. In that match, UW had almost 20% more attacks than Texas, which is very unusual for a winning team because they are usually doing more serving. UW leveraged that difference into an easy win by being resilient on offense against a tough block and scrappy enough on defense to keep transition opportunities coming. That's what Arkansas will have to do tonight and tomorrow. It plays into the badgers weakness. I'm interested to see how Sheffield gameplans it.

It’s not clear to me from those stats that they had anyone who could pass any better. This is probably a dumb question, but what does the passing number reflect? I think I’ve taken for granted what I think I know about the stat. My understanding is that a perfect pass (3) puts you in position to set to any of 3 options to attack, right? If that’s correct, is it ultimately a reflection of whoever is hitting the 2 ball, or does the serve receive pass factor in somehow as well? The reason why I ask is… if someone like Landfair is shanking passes that require someone to nearly run off the court to save, doesn’t that sort of snowball and make any subsequent passers’ numbers go down substantially?

I could be wrong, but pretty sure the passing number is only for the first touch of the opposition serve - i.e., serve receive.

Just spent $10 on ESPN+ for a one month subscription, and apparently that doesn’t get you access to the match tonight.

One thing I expect to see Sheffield do is go with two different lineups for the two nights, and to stick with them to the end of the match, with modest adjustments along the way. IOW, if he starts Orzol a libero again, she stays at libero through the end of that nights match. If he starts Orzol at OH and GG at libero, they stay at that position. If Orzol DS's and GG is libero (which I doubt will happen, but who really knows?) he'll stick with that.
He will want the win, but he will be more interested to see how the different lineups deal with difficulty if they see any. Getting the lineup right for the meat of the season is more important.

Brittney on radio (UW asst coach): third different lineup, but no details on what that lineup is.
