This is painful to watch. I think the setting is ok but San Diego just don’t have a go to hitter. Plus the passing is horrible. They just don’t have the same energy compared to last year. They have some sparks but just could not sustain it. Wishing them all the best this season. I hope they can make it to the postseason.

San Diego looks a lot better in the third set. Led by Hester and Blackwell pretty exclusively. (Nemo Beach playing but is 1/1/6.)
San Diego is down 0-2 but up 22-17 in the third set, so this should go at least 4 sets.
(In addition to Blossom, USD is missing the fire of Grace Frohling at Opp. They are currently hitting .167 for the match.)
Edit: San Diego takes the third set 25-18. Trail 1-2

OK, well, 21-14 Tennessee lead in the fourth set. USD is going down in 4.
Tennessee is hitting .224 and San Diego is hitting .142.
Tennessee has 9 blocks to USD's 8.
Lovett and Fingall each have 16 kills at .324/.325 for Tennessee. Hester leads USD with 11 kills at .250. Blackwell (.280) and Stivrins (.129) have 10 each
USD's Madi Allen is leading the match with 24 digs. When she is not in the back row, the USD defense really seems to struggle.
Final score Tennessee 3-1: 25-17, 25-20. 18-25, 25-17

Final score Tennessee 3-1: 25-17, 25-20. 18-25, 25-17 Yes Allen and Bennett only consistents with passing and back row defense, Allen needs to be a better leader though- she’s so quiet and low key, back row play by hitters is struggling so they tried adding more DS players but not sure much better; no consistency with setting seems to be the biggest weakness, it’s hard for hitters to terminate without good sets, Tercariol did seem to have the edge over the other two but who knows; in desperate need of a win, let’s go!! |
