Boston College is up 10-7 in the first set over San Diego...🥴 It was 10-4 to start.

BC takes the first set 25-18. San Diego needs to find their mojo.
Tercariol is setting. San Diego hit 0.061 in that set and only Blackwell had 2 kills...the others had 1. San Diego did get 5 blocks. Serve receive has been sus AWOL. BC got 5 aces in that set and lots of out of system plays on USD's side.
Jen Petrie's daughter served the ace for BC that clinched the first set...!
Katie Lukes is one of the announcers for San Diego.

Maybe they had a good pep talk between sets. USD has come out much better in the second set, leading 10-4 (after trailing 4-10 in the first set).

San Diego is killing it in the second set. Leading 21-7 and hitting .478 in this set.

25-10 second set to tie the match at 1-1. USD hit .500 in that set and took some really good swings.

This is starting to look like the match I expected, with a strong USD team earning their first win. They are up 10-2 and owning BC. I have no idea what happened in set one on their home court... brain snatching?

Set 4 closer than expected. San Diego leads 18-16 but both teams hitting under .100

San Diego finished it off 3-1 with a 25-20 fourth set.
First win of the season. Woot Woot.
Blackwell had 16 kills hitting .297. Pries had 14 kills and Stivrins had 12 kills.
Crabtree and Schroder had 11 kills each for BC. (Jen Petrie's daughter, Jane, finished with 12 assists and 5 digs for BC, plus a service ace.)
BC ended up out blocking USD 12-10. USD hit .231 for the match and BC hit .112
