I opened up the stats page and saw it said "Set 3: UCI 11 - WSU 0". I was like, "WTF?" Then I saw that for whatever reason, they hadn't reset the score for UCI from Set 2, which had ended as WSU 25 - UCI 11.

Guess UCI lost their chance when they didn't quite manage to get the quick first-set win. After it was 16-20 in the first set, Cougs went on to win 25-22 and then 25-11 and 25-12.
So they outscored UCI 59-25 to finish out the match.

Seeing the Cougs in action reinforces my belief that they have a really strong team -- as long as nobody gets hurt. Ryan, Timmer, and Isanovic are a great trio of outsides. Madga is the best middle in the conference and quite possibly the country. Ung seems pretty decent, and they have options in the back row.
Radakovic is of course a step down from Madga, but with the Cougar OHs they should be able to work around that.
The big question is whether they have any depth in case someone gets hurt. Hopefully we won't need to find out.

BYU is uo 2-0 (25-20, 25-23), but getting housed in set 3, 11-21 at the moment

BYU is uo 2-0 (25-20, 25-23), but getting housed in set 3, 11-21 at the moment BYU is hitting -.179 so far in this set, Towson is hitting .421. There were a few long runs for Towson. The second set was close 23-25
ETA: It's a fun match to watch

Don't know if anyone is watching this, but the Towson libero is ridiculously good on defense. Were you still watching? That Towson save on match point was impressive (both the 2nd contact by the libero and 3rd contact to get that ball over) I was impressed with the good 'little' plays that Towson made throughout the match. |

BYU gets the win but Towson gets the Pablo win. I wasn't expecting that. |

Impressed with Towson, both the "never let the ball touch the floor" mentality, and especially Lazda. Nice player. Glad BYU was able to figure some things out after a tough 3rd set (credit Towson)--reminds me of a midseason league game where neither side is particularly impressed by the other side and lots of what you used to do doesn't work. Grind it out, figure it out volleyball. I will be interested to see if Towson has anything left in the tank for tonight (WSU) or whether this was a one-off. But for now, impressed by how they played.
