My thing is…if volleyball is going to get ESPN on a Tuesday night, Stanford better be filling that venue to show off not only the sport but also the two most winningest programs. C’mon Cardinal. I doubt they fill the venue. It's a Tuesday school night at the beginning of their term. Students will be too scared about classes and such to not study and attend the match. It will mostly be alumni and non-student fans Stanford doesn't start classes until the 26th, according to Google. |

I've heard two different commentators say Stanford has three or four of the best players at their positions. Who were they referring to? Thanks. Kipp and Miner, most likely, maybe Baird, Rubin, or Oglevie? |

Kipp and Miner, most likely, maybe Baird, Rubin, or Oglevie? Kipp, Miner & Oglivie. I think the real question is how the Nebraska freshman will react in their first match against elite competition. Stanford OTOH is in the middle of their usual pre-season with every top 10 team that will schedule us..... |

Stanford is really promoting this match. There is an ad across the bottom of the front of the San Francisco Chronicle's Sunday sports section: They better promote it; otherwise there might be more Nebraska fans in attendance. Those Tuesday matches, even against quality opponents, haven't drawn much attendance. |

It will mostly be alumni and non-student fans Actually it's well before the beginning of the term. So no one has fall classes to study for yet, but the problem is that they aren't on campus yet. I'll be there if at all possible. (Grad school alum living less than 2 miles from Maples.) |
