Landfair is out due to an awkward landing on a play but she is still with the team and didn’t go to the locker.

And Landfair goes down with a tweak. Crowl is in now and Hanson playing front row.

Also that ball from Murr looked just fine to me…

Anyone else think that the camera frame is always too tight in Minnesota matches? Would love if they could pull it back a bit.

Close it out Gophers. I’m not curious about what kind of line up Keegan would try in a fifth set. I’m so confused why Grote got pulled.

After the Landfair injury, they had Hanson just play 6-rotation OPP (she’d come in anyway to replace Landfair, so may as well keep her on the court). Could have had Grote play 6-ro but guessing they wanted Hanson’s ball control. Then Crowl came in to effectively take Landfair’s spot in the rotation.

Before the match, Coach K spoke at a Volleyball Insider get-together. He was asked about his philosophy regarding lineup changes, and his answer was that in August and September, he is much more likely to let the player try and work through her problems on the court. (No specific names were asked, nor used in K's answer).

So, on the heat-meter tonight, here's how I'd categorize things.
Piping hot: Lydia Grote(!!!), Gophers controlled service pressure, Kylie Murr, Wucherer's defense and hitting, Awoleye's blocking
Warm: Shaffmaster (just left a handful of sets low, otherwise played pretty well)
Hot Mess: Zeynep's passing (limited sample size), Taylor Landfair again, Wucherer's serving and passing, Gopher middles offensive ineffectiveness on good sets, High Point's passing and setting

Edited per Courtwatchers accuracy
If Creighton plays as well as the Big East's other top club, Marquette, we are going to have to play a lot better to win on Saturday. Wisconsin notched 20 14 kills on 41 34 swings from Smrek Booth & Crawford, WI's MBs.
You can be sure Creighton will not be serving at Murr. I watched them taking extensive notes in a corner of the West end.
I don't know what MN was doing in the first set. HP won with only 10 kills. 5 MN SEs MN aced 5x HP had 2 blocks MN had 3 hitting errors.

The ball control in the first set looked like a mediocre high school squad.
