CAL has no chance. Maggie Li will get her kills, but CAL has not faced a team of Stanford's level this season, and it will be a shock to their system. Most of the other CAL players played on the team last year, and may have improved a bit, but just don't have the depth to challenge Stanford. Will be interesting to see if CAL can push them though. Even getting a set could be considered a win for them. They just hope Stanford shows up slow and sleepy like they do at times in matches.

Home match for Cal and a rivalry match, so Cal might hang in for a while, but Stanford will end the win streak.

Stanford fat and happy after defeating L'ville traveling across country should not be prepared for Cal at Haas. They should still win, but it is at least an opening for Cal and about the best scenario they could hope for playing the Card.

I'm positively sure that Coach Schoonderwoerd is prepping her squad to be aggressive in this match...not hoping for a 'sleepy and slow' SU team. In checking out a go-to real-time RPI site...which has been the most accurate re: mirroring the Selection Committee's final seedings in recent years....Stanford's #4; UC Berkeley is 93. You can do the math! |

the gap's too wide for an upset to happen. Maryland took down Wisconsin once (I don't remember if it was the latter's championship year), but the gap's wider in this case.
