How many service errors did UCLA have in the 5th? Is Speraw their new serving coach? UCLA had 4 - USC had 2.

Is this win better for Hawaii because they beat usc?
Or would we rather have ucla win so it’s not a bad loss?

Yes. There are sometimes when a team has a bunch of 51-100 losses it can be held against them. 51-100 wins could also slightly help a case too when things are close.

I also assume since we played usc twice, it’s even better. (Which I forgot about originally) Good win usc! Glad fields finally has help

LOL which at-large team that shouldn't have made it in was it that the Committee credited for 51-100 wins last year (or was it the year before)?

I don’t believe either of these teams are good… but they both have numerous elite level players….

They had 5 51-100 wins, but only 1 Top 50 (Bowling Green). UCLA had 3 top 50.

I thought it was a pretty good match. Pretty evenly matched. UCLA had a lot of great blocks, and their middles seemed pretty effective. Olson hitting negative was surprising, and a few too many service errors for UCLA. USC just kept fighting back, and I think had stronger serving in the end, which made the difference. Wijay is impressive for a freshman. I'm sure these two teams will get more wins in the PAC, and they look solid enough to make the tourney. USC needs more wins, so it was a bit more critical for them.

This match on the PAC12 Network reminded me of how good the B1G broadcasts are.
And UCLA, along with CAL, have the 2nd and 3rd worst floors for watching VB on TV. Cal is a little worse because of that giant CAL logo in the middle. The light floor color with even lighter white boundary lines make it a task to watch. (Not the mention the high camera angles.)
Of course, Oregon still holds the crown for 'toughest to watch' on TV.
