On the topic of throwing, honest question, not trolling - does Texas coach their hitters to throw? Well, Eggleston did it a lot more than either Skinner or Wenaas. O'Neal used to do it a bunch on the slide attack. Nuneviller did a series of interviews with former players on zoom. One of them was with Eggleston and Stivrins. One of the things Nuneviller said on there is that the professional team she was on was working on the same kind of attacks that Eggleston was known for, and Eggleston replied laughingly she didn't want to go there given all the attention she received for it. I would go with the answer is uncertain. It's beyond my ability to suspend disbelief that it isn't a part of what they teach, but it is uncertain to me how much it's emphasized. I realize that's not the clear cut answer you're probably looking for, but it's the most authentic answer I'm prepared to give. |
