The fact that they have to immediately play again tomorrow is so stupid. I wanna see how each team evolves over the season and then watch them play for a championship later in the year. This ain't it, B12. Well, maybe they change it next year. Or maybe they continue this asinine schedule to save money on travel. Who knows? It's not like a lot of these programs can afford to charter flights for all their sports program, and commercial flights to and from some of the locations in the Big 12 are nightmare fuel. But I'm 100% with you. I hate hate hate it. Glad we're heading to the SEC next year so it's not going to be our problem any more. Yeah, the B12 next year will still be a fun league to keep an eye on, but Texas' move to the SEC kinda puts them on the backburner for me. I'll prob also tune into more ACC matches with Stanford and Cal going there.

1. Our announcers are better than yours. 2. Our mascot is better than yours. 3. That’s all I got. Someone get Erin Livingston an ice bag Please don't put that man and Jill Dorsey on us. We literally only play on Fox no more than twice per season. Ready for the SEC Network and Missy Whittemore.

1. Our announcers are better than yours. 2. Our mascot is better than yours. 3. That’s all I got. Someone get Erin Livingston an ice bag Never seen that guy before. Ron Thulin is his name. He's an OU guy from back in the 70s. Yes, that's right. He started his broadcasting year in the 70s. I'm not making that up. Used to be the guy with Barry Switzer for the Barry Switzer show. He's never called a Texas volleyball match in his life. Unconvinced he's called any kind of volleyball match after what I witnessed, although he did do a bunch of international events like the Goodwill Games. If you're into silver linings, the one thing I'll say is that Fox is showing volleyball matches on a linear channel. They obviously do not have a deep bench of volleyball announcers. That much is clear. Hopefully they like their ratings and invest more in their coverage, because Ron Thulin has to go. Here's the wikipedia entry so people don't have to look it up: "Ron Thulin is a sportscaster who currently handles play-by-play for the Dallas Wings of the WNBA, Panther City Lacrosse of the NLl and college basketball. He was formerly with Turner Sports.
Biography
Thulin has called play-by-play for college football coverage on TBS, FOX, Stadium and American sports network. He has been part of 5 Olympic broadcasts, including alpine events for Turner Sports, and International Broadcasts in Vancouver. He called gymnastics in London Summer Olympic Games along with men’s and women’s basketball and trampoline. In 1989 he joined Turner Broadcasting as play-by- play for the Atlanta Hawks. The following year he began PxP for the NBA on TBS/TNT. He was also handled PxP for the San Antonio Spurs in 1996-97. During his 4 decade career, Thulin has also called college basketball for Raycom Sports, FOX, ESPN 3 and ESPN plus. While at Turner, Thulin also was the lead PxP guy for basketball the Goodwill games in Seattle and St Petersburg Russia. Also handled PxP for the Pan Am Games in Havana Cuba for both TNT and ABC sports. In 2017 he began play by play for the Dallas Wings of the WNBA. In 2020, he called the league for CBS Sports network. Along with his play by play duties, he has hosted numerous shows including ESPN road show for 3 years. His career started in 1976 at WKY TV in Oklahoma City as a sports anchor. During his time there, he also hosted the Barry Switzer Show In 1982, Thulin became the weekend anchor at KXAS in Dallas, Texas. Also had a role in the movie “Tex” playing a TV anchor.
Personal life
Thulin resides in the DFW area with his wife Paula. They have 2 daughters Katie and Joanna and one grand son, Jack. He is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University. He is active in FCA."

Jenna has never been a very dynamic hitter. She can crush a tight ball when the block is late or hit a crazy angle on an inside set but too many times she just tries to hit it straight down when the block is there and it’s an easy control block. She has no off speed shots or roll shots or effective tips.
I have to imagine the Texas coaches tell the hitters to be less aggressive and just keep that play going on out of system balls, relying on their block to win points. Otherwise I don’t understand why they tip so often and don’t swing aggressively. And I have no idea why they set/tip everything over with 2 hands instead of just hitting a standing drive/roll. You saw it tonight where Molly got called for a double. It’s not difficult to just hit it over with 1 hand.

Even though I don’t like the format, tomorrow night’s match should be fun. I don’t think we’ll see the same character of match. BYU looked really average in sets 2-4, even with the run at the end of set 4. Texas has a way of doing that to teams tho.
Olmstead is too good of a coach to let the same thing happen twice. Not saying they’ll win tho.

Auburn called with a pep talk and said don't let happen to you what happened to us.

The problem with calling a setter dump for a throw is -- of course it is a throw. But by that logic, you can't dump on second contact because they are then all throws. That's not true. You wait until the ball isn't behind you. Then it's not a throw. Better yet, she's a lefty...swing.

Clackalacka is a classic phrase to use on a big kill.
"Big overhand" is not a classic phrase to use on a big kill.
Just saying.

Texas has two of the best OH in the country, let em take rips at it. That’s difficult when one of them is on the bench.
