Sheffield saying they chose to put Booth and Smerk up against Terry. Is that the intended consequence/reason for the MJ as first server lineup?

CC wins it. 25-12 set three. Franklin has been so good in SR and in D. Take out that one game where she got a gazillion SEs, and I'm pretty sure she would be passing a 2.1+, which is big for us. Still, I think she's at a 2.07 right now, and should get to 2.1+ by the end of the season. |

You can see how the Badgers don’t get weekly B1G awards…. But I’m hard pressed to name better players than that front row 6.

You can see how the Badgers don’t get weekly B1G awards…. But I’m hard pressed to names better players than that front row 6. I am sure they'd rather win a Natty versus individual player awards. 😍 |

CC:
Did it mean a little more considering the broken fingers? Yes.
Getting better each set. Serving was key today.
CC is focusing in on serving. Focusing on routine and the toss. The toss is key.
Has seven straight matches with an ace.
7 blocks, depends on serve, and on the pin hitters setting the edge.
Had no idea of the set streak.
Sheffield:
Served a lot better as the match went on.
Started serving into the passer's platform. Gave Illinois options.
As the match went on that changed. Terry had 50 swings but only hit 0.100. They'll take that.
Did better on BR attacks from Terry in the 3rd set.
Started MJ and Anna tonight to change it up. Did a good job on D.
Couldn't have told you how many sets and matches they won.
Players have a lot of things to deal with. They are not thinking about the streaks. Thinking about getting better as as the match goes on.
As coaches, fans and media personalities we focus on those things. But the players have have classes, personal life and NIL (!) to address.
It's not on the top of their minds!

Dang, hope they both get well soon! Damrow came in with a busted knee, and Wrobel’s been nursing a back situation all season. Damrow’s played a bit, but Wrobel hasn’t at all. At this point I hope Wrobel redshirts - focuses on her health and comes back stronger next year; we’re gonna need her. I hope Wrobel's healthy and gets playing time next year, too! |
