So there’s no penalty / USAV doesn’t care anymore? Lol. I mean I’m all for him choosing to do what’s best for him but it’s a weird situation for sure. USA’s future is not looking so hot

USA’s future is not looking so hot I dont think USAV gets a say. NORCECA could probably penalize USA for fielding an ineligible player in NORCECA events... and given DOM could've been a medalist in at least one event (I didnt check the others)... I could see them doing so LOL

machine translation _______________________________________________________________
Also on Ferdinando De Giorgi's Azzurri roster is Rana Verona's setter Francesco Sani, a name that has been discussed on social media by many abroad due to his past in a US jersey.
Born in Greenbrae, California, Sani previously played in the Under-19 World Championships with the USA in Tunisia in 2019 and then in September2021 the final six of the Pan-American Cup in which the USA won bronze, beating the hosts Dominican Republic in the final for the podium.
This year, the setter played for the Italians in Verona. He previously wore the jersey of UC Irvine, a team from the Californian college of the same name. In the past year, the young hammer, born in 2002, played an important role within the American team, taking the court in 103 sets, initially in the role of setter and then also being used as opposite.
On our precise question, the FIVB on the player replied as follows: After becoming aware of this case in October 2023, the FIVB conducted a thorough eligibility check and determined that Francesco Romano Sani's Federation of Origin is the Italian Volleyball Federation as the player first played volleyball for the Italian club Trentino Volley SRL SSD, during the 2013-14 season, and was registered with the Italian Volleyball Federation on 27 March 2014, at the age of 11.
In accordance with Article 41.4.1 of the 2013 FIVB Sporting Regulations (the rule applicable at the time of the player's first registration): The Federation that first issues a licence or registers the player with one of its teams shall be considered the Federation of Origin, regardless of the nationality of the player.
The FIVB notes that the competition mentioned in your email - Pan American Games 2022, ed. - is not a FIVB competition and is not organised by the FIVB, therefore any questions regarding the eligibility of players should be addressed to the organisers of that competition.

I feel we should do a trade then. They take Sani and we get either Bottolo or Sala!
We need some solid youth we can train and develop at OPP. Italy isn't doing anything with all their 8000 pins 😂

I heard... MILANO SWEPT TRENTINO!And I heard... ISHIKAWA WENT OFF!And I might've heard... MICHELETTO IS A FRAUD!It was a thrashing, especially in set 3. I'm not going to say anything further about implications because sometimes, the universe likes me manifesting and other times it likes to show me how foolish I am.
