My first car 1965 VW Beetle, minus the optional dents and rust. Top speed 65 mph (downhill). I've never had the pleasure of driving a VW Beetle. A classic! This was around 1980. It might be called a Classic today, but mine was just a rusted out rattle trap. It was very cold in the winter because it had no heater fan, so if the car wasn't moving it had no heat. I had an ice scraper hanging from the rearview mirror because the defroster had no chance of keeping the windshield clear inside the car and it would frost up from my breath. The engine had solid lifters that needed constant adjustment.

When I was driving around in my Chevy Chevette, I could feel every bump on the road. And when traveling at higher speeds, the windows and other mechanical parts I couldn't identify rattled loudly. It could barely go uphill. But I kinda loved it. I used to tell my friends I was glad to be driving a Chevette because "I felt at ONE with the earth" (because of all the bumps).

My mom had a Chevette, we just called it Mom's Vette.

The New York Liberty’s home court is one of the most visually appealing I’ve seen. Presently playing on ABC in the WNBA Finals.

I'm wondering if I should change my roof tiles. I don't have any leaks through the ceiling but I suspect there are leaks from the roof to the attic. Somehow, the leaks are either too small or the water is being diverted to a natural funnel or gutter on the sides. Also, we have animals (birds, raccoons, squirrels, owls, and rats) invade our attic, some staying for extended periods. We haven't done a thing but we hear a lot of strange noises. At times, we hear noises of animals in the throes of death. I picture some hawk or owl swooping down and snatching a rat and tearing into its flesh.

The animals aren't necessarily an issue themselves, but are if they chew into wiring or otherwise harm the integrity of the house.

I have nothing up there except for old treasure chests and some dead bodies.

I'm thinking of running 8 miles today and then once at the destination, grabbing a bite to eat for lunch, and then taking the bus back home. I've never done this before but it sounds fun. I have to map it out on Google so I get my 8 miles and my destination has enough good dining options.

I'm thinking of reading spy novels. John le Carre stuff.
I'd like to enter the spy profession and I think these books will help.

I'm wondering when my lingering cough will go away. Me too! I think it’s gonna be awhile.
