Well, it was. For a couple of sets, at least. Didn't Wisconsin get something like 12 ace blocks in the second set? I can't remember the last time that happened to the Huskers in a whole match. Wisconsin is a better blocking team than any team the Huskers have or likely will face this season. Per the box score 'play-by-play', Wisconsin scored 12 points on blocks in the set. Seven kills, four 'other' attack errors, one service error, and one "ball handling" error.

Yeah she was. On some gnarly serves too. Really an impressive player. Is she a junior or a senior? senior Well I guess that’s good! She would still have a potential covid year though, no?

We have some great volleyball to look forward to in the coming years [and for the rest of this season, I hope].

All these poor, poor babies who are queasy because of the transfer portal. So sad for you The transfer portal is great for players. It allows those players who are in bad situations, whether due to toxic relationships (players or coaches), lack of playing time for someone with starter talent, or a situation which doesn't allow full use of their talents, to move into a different situation. Kids transfer colleges all the time, for many reasons. This allows players to do it without some sort of "indentured servitude" penalty for doing so. Are there things that are bad about the transfer culture? Yes. Someone pointed out that it makes things harder for mid-level teams to rise up by recruiting stars and having those stars carry them to the next level. I mean, that's almost better though - now teams have to work their way up by creating a team full of good players and coaching them to be better as a team than the sum of parts. Then convincing stars that they are a destination point. Indiana is nearly there, and Michigan State may be next. And as for team culture? Well, if you're a good coach, you recruit players who will fit within the culture, regardless of portal or freshmen. But overall, the portal is positive for players. And there's not so much movement that fans can't identify with their teams because players change from year-to-year. And for Nebraska fan and complain about "home-grown" blah blah blah, whatever people. You have the biggest NIL fund out there (except maybe Texas), and Jaylen may be good but the program also recruits itself. If you're so sad about not being able to pull a Bear Bryant and have the best recruits in the nation have an easier time during game because you also recruited the second best recruits in the nation, then maybe you don't actually care about the players. Which is generally what I assume whenever anyone complains about the portal.

The whole transfer debate ignores one thing. The players who transfer are mostly leaving unstable situations they didn’t want to stay in. In the cases of Franklin and Booth it was a coaching change and all the instability that brings. Boyer could probably see something similar on the horizon at Iowa. Mccaa it was coaching change then following her recruiter to BC then deciding to come back to home to a program she had wanted to recruit her from the beginning. They didn’t say, I want to go to UW. They said get me somewhere else, and they chose UW from among the options. Even going back to Clark and Barnes - they were both second choice at their original schools and neither was on scholarship, so we’re told. There is nothing wrong with students trying to correct a bad situation they find themselves in, or in being a program students want to come to, as long as you are not kicking other players off the team. I wouldn’t be surprised if Franklin was on Cooks radar too. Booth probably was as well. I’m fine with players trying to find a better situation. good take

Congrats huskers. You hit more than 80 points beneath the badgers. You got a lower SO% and and lower P%. And a bad call on a touch in the first set. But you deserved a win based on the rules. Congrats. Good luck! oh he big mad 😂😂😂 what an embarrassing post

...and Izzy, and MJ (as it stands now). Did not know this part! Izzy is out of eligibility. MJ could come back next year, but has said that she's interested in a masters program that Wisconsin doesn't have, and so will likely not return. I don't know if she will use that last year somewhere else, or not.

...and Izzy, and MJ (as it stands now). Did not know this part! Yikes, I guess I'm still not fully functioning after the roller coaster ride last night.
cornfarmer, Izzy is timed out [5th year grad student] and MJ is leaving to pursue her educational goals - nurse practitioner. The Badger have Charlie Fuerbringer, the consensus #1 setter, coming in next year. We're expecting a return to the 5-1.

Lol it’s kind of how they’re in the position they’re in given it’s how Beason is a Husker.
