This started after the release of their ex-rated photos and videos. Come on man. I know we're a part of the same fan base, but you are going TOO FAR. It's in the past. Let it go. Have some respect for the players. I haven’t gone looking for the video (for obvious reasons) but my understanding was a couple teammates accidentally released a video in the locker room where some players were partially undressed in the background. Because, you know, it’s a locker room The fascination definitely has “shocked to discover women are naked under their clothes” energy

I'd like to congratulate ESPN for their <satire>sterling coverage</satire> of this match of the year. ESPN has pages devoted to Sports betting, Football and basketball recruiting, golf, cricket, WWE, rugby, Nascar, Horse racing, etc. Do they have a page for volleyball? Not at this time. Volleyball coverage is posted on the "College Sports" page. There were 3 articles on volleyball published this season - the last one 53 days ago - 2 of them about Volleyball night in Lincoln and one about prospective national champs for this year. End of story. I think it's time volleyball enthusiasts direct some letters/emails to ESPN to help make them aware that VB has become a mainstream sport and their fans deserve some recognition from the leader in sports media world. Matches like this one should not be confined to local press. I saw that. Pathetic

I don't think anyone objects to "filling a weakness" with a transfer. But 5? Yeah, that's ridiculous. What's wrong with seeing a rule that you can't have more than 2, for example? That's similar to what some European pro leagues do with limiting the number of foreigners that can be signed. This current free for all, unlimited plan is unfair and ruining the chances of many lower tier teams to keep the players they've developed and have breakout seasons. Imagine Michigan State with Sarah Franklin still on the team, for example. And there are many others. It's unfair. It's against the spirit of the game. And it seriously needs to be changed to have some reasonable limit. I like this. Limit to 2 so we can't say anything about Beason? Would Nebraska be undefeated without her transfer? no, i don't think the huskers would be undefeated without her, BUT the only reason cook went out to get her is whitney "retired" from volleyball. she was supposed to be the opposite this year. i am not complaining about beason though. the lady is a leader.

More generally, I get frustrated by The Badgers' recurring problems in the first set against good teams, e.g. Pitt in The Elite 8 last year, Florida this year, last night and, of course, The 2021 Championship match.
Maybe Sheff should have called a time out, but this is an experienced team that shouldn't need a talking to so early in the match.
The Badger players have to own what they didn't do. The most glaring example is 12 service errors and no aces. Izzy had 5 SE.
They also have to own what they did do in the 5th set; 3 net violations and a service error. Sheff did call a timeout after Murray got 2 kills near the end of the 5th. She got another one right after the TO.
The Badgers biggest problem may be that there is no Dana Rettke to bail them out, e.g, when she made 2 incredible plays to save the second set in the 2021 Natty. Who is going to assume that role? The Badgers will need it to make a run. I think Sarah Franklin is that go-to/bailout player for Wisconsin. In my opinion, the setting is the limiting factor for the Badgers and the incredible blocking and Nebraska hitting errors masked that deficiency for long stretches, especially in sets 2 and 3. Wisconsin had the match in hand but Nebraska capitalized on the small Badger errors which started to compound e.g. Smrek's hitting error late in set 4 and 3 straight net violations from Crawford and the end of the match. setting is the limiting factor---hhmmm, sounds like the huskers' the last 2 years...

I was pleased to see TTA play better overall. In Games 2-4, she took some successful, confident swings, which was a plus. But I can't help but think, what if Smrek (Shrek) had had a normal/average match yesterday? She was a nonfactor yesterday offensively. Robinson played OK -- her sets need to be a lot flatter or lower, or she needs to wait and beast it. The match next month in the dungeon will tell us a lot. Orzol was legit, and so was GG. The setting: Ashburn seems uncomfortable having to share the team again -- she seemed so much more dynamic and confident in the 5-1 (I'm not opposed to it btw)... her sets were steady, and she connected well with Shrek. Hammill is horrible on defense, and she leaves a lot of tip room open for opponents. Her sets were mediocre at best. Besides going fishing, C.C. did a lot of good things. Nebraska Impressions: Beason -- incredible night and was a true leader Setter -- One of the best and steady Murray -- was meh, until her trick and lucky shots in the 5th, not too impressed by her game yesterday. Action Jackson: Amazing at times, sometimes her youth showed The X factor was the other OH, she was on fire and kept them in the match! Becca: Non-factor Passing/Defense/Hustle: 10/10 Murray was meh, not too impressed with her game. Really? 7 kills in 5th set with match on the line, overall with poor hit%, played all 6 rotations with great results in back row. But “the other OH” was on fire and kept them in the match? Huh? She kept both teams in the match. Batenhorst hit .075 for the match, did not play back row or serve. Was good for a backup. Bekka. Perhaps forced some of the ineffectiveness from Smrek. On the bright side will be much better next time. I love Becca, love her attitude but, our block has to get better. I know that sounds really ridiculously picky at this point but when the team out blocks you that badly then you have to find a way to get better. Our block was pretty darn ineffective. If it wasn’t for Lexi and company we would’ve been screwed.

By the way, is it any wonder that Lexi has a outstanding NIL deal? She’s the best. She also has an incredible personality. The girl is a winner.

Match finally coded on Volleymetrics.
Choboy: 2.66 on 28 Murray: 2.30 on 45 Rodriguez: 2.63 on 16
Franklin: 2.34 on 52 GG: 2.10 on 25 Orzol: 2.15 on 10
Really impressive passing performances by Choboy, Murray and Franklin (whose grade should be more like a 2.40 IMO based on the film)

She’s shown flashes but it was inconsistent

I'm impressed with Franklin. She's tall yet so mobile. She will have a very good pro career.
Beason has the making of an Annie Drews and both liberos will make an impact to their respective national teams in the future.

All that height for nothing oh Smrek embodied that yesterday. thank god. Ah yes, Rules 45(a) and 45(b):
a. Every team which is comprised of 2 or more players who are taller than the opponent's tallest players shall win every match, or shall be rebuttably presumed to suck;
b. "Off days", bad setting, difficult "away" venues, only human and feeling pressure, and very skilled opponents shall not, alone or in any combination, be sufficient to rebut the presumption.
Congrats guys. You really stuck it to Anna the automaton.

Same as Krause hit last year , most of the time with a walk on setter. Annie Drews being left handed is slightly significant difference.
