Congrats USC Fields went off and with that I think that may be the nail in the coffin for WSU hosting chances of regional Way too early. Say Wazzu wins out and Stanford loses to someone else. Not out yet. True but lost of matches left in Maples against the top of the PAC, we will see what happens Sunday but I wouldn’t bank on another Stanford loss is all I’m saying and even with doesn’t scheduling advantage them over WSU and others next in line. |

USC is probably gonna get rekt in the return trip to Bohler but I'm okay with that - this win definitely puts USC in a much much more comfortable position to make the tournament.

When’s the last time a bubble team with a top 5 win didn’t make the tourney Pretty sure it was Kansas 2018 when they beat Texas. I predicted them to get in. Committee said screw the Big 12 that year in all of the 'close calls'. They love doubling down on things (they left K-State out too, who beat bubble team Hawaii x2). |

I was utterly dismissive of USC's chances of winning that match. I'm eating a lot of crow right now. Just a terrific job by the women of Troy for the reverse sweep. They dominated that 5th set. Shout out to Skylar Fields, who never showed any kind of hesitation even when WSU was shutting her down in the first couple of sets. Never even saw her hitting percentage rise over .100 until the 5th set. 15 digs, too! What a monster. Kudos to McGinest, as well. 17-25, 14-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-8. Great job to USC. McGinest was definitely an mvp for me! Don’t know her exact stat line but something around 13k with no errors? For someone who doesn’t get much playing time she did so good coming in. Also s/o goeghagan. I think she passed and played defense really good when I’ve been iffy about her this whole season. |

Wijay back is a difference maker for USC, however, WSU should have won that match.

I almost didn’t even play Fields on my fantasy roster this week because I thought she would underperform (compared to her usual kills) this match. Who knew?! |

I feel like USC is a different team with Wijay in there. Like a team that can make a deep run into the NCAA. Reminds me a lot like Keao Burdine from back in the days. Smart, has power, and contributes consistently. A good 1-2 punch alongside Fields.

I did see a team that was good enough to grind out a win against a Washington State team that lost their mojo. But since I don’t think USC is going to host, even a Sweet 16 run would be really impressive to me. I can’t get over a feeling when watching the Trojans that they’re not as talented as I think they should be, even when they’re pulling out a great win. Which this was. |

She stabilizes their whole line-up because she is a plus passer and can pair with Trubint to pass 75% of the floor in 6 rotations. Without her, their passing is extremely suspect. Hopefully she remains healthy the rest of the way.
